With December 26, 2006, having passed without any attempt upon
the life of French President Jacques Chirac, and with his March
11, 2007, announcement that he would not seek re-election for a
third consecutive term, the most basic honesty calls for yet
another review of this 'prophecy' discovered in cryptic anagrams
from many quatrains by Nostradamus.

BACKGROUND

One of the very first events discovered hidden in Nostradamus'
poetry via the cryptic anagram technique was the assassination of
a future French President, Mr. Jacques Chirac. That discovery was
made at the end of 1994 and early 1995, when Fran=E7ois Mitterrand
was still in office. Mr. Chirac was indeed a candidate to succeed
him, but the then French Prime Minister, Mr. =C9douard Balladur,
was topping all opinion polls as the winner of that coming
election; and he was not even yet a candidate! For the
Socialists, Mr. Jacques Delors had announced that he would not
run for President. That was the political picture then. (Mr.
Chirac eventually got elected.)

The cryptic anagrams referring to the Chirac murder were
defective on at least one point: the date of that crime. At
first, a December 30 date had been mistakenly found. December 26
later became the 'correct' date. But the year was never correctly
found. What were some of the other circumstances of that crime?

In retaliation for the killing, on December 26, 1994, by a French
swat-team, of four Islamic hijackers on the tarmac of the
Marseille-Marignane airport, where the Air France Airbus they had
seized in Algiers two days before had stopped for re-fueling,
pending a 9/11-style kamikaze attack upon the Eiffel Tower in
Paris, the Algerian G.I.A. (Groupe islamique arm=E9) -- or what was
left of it, as it had often been decapitated -- explodes a huge
bomb near the =C9lys=E9e Palace, in Paris, killing French President
Chirac.

These circumstances can only materialize if Mr. Chirac spends the
Christmas Holidays in Paris. Problem: he almost never does!

Second problem: this assassination is supposed to happen only
when Paris no longer fears such an attack. On the latest December
26 (2006), that condition was not being met: the anti-terror plan
called 'Vigipirate' was still in force, at a high level, as
France is still a potential target of Islamic suicide bombers.

Third problem: December 26, 2006, was the very last of Mr.
Chirac's current presidency. So, unless he were to announce his
intention to seek a third term of office (and he just announced
the opposite), his last term of office shall normally end this
Spring, and the 64 cryptic anagrams announcing his assassination

shown to have been incorrect.
