Note: This FAQ is a work in progress, and as such, is only complete as
of the day of its update. Questions & answers will be updated as they
are warranted.

1. Who is Alex Cain?
A 28-year-old loser from Griffin, Georgia. A 1994 graduate of Griffin
High School, at last report he claims to have
graduated from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA
with a BA in English. He previously attended Gordon College in
Barnesville, GA, where he described himself as an "aspiring theatre
student". Perpetually unemployed (and unemployable), his college and
living expenses are paid for by his father James, a (retired?) middle
school teacher in Griffin. He does not own a car, most likely because
he is too short to reach the pedals.
Dink has a website at http://www.geocities.com/acain.geo/, but it's
nothing more than a few graphics. Another Dink-created website is at
http://www.geocities.com/alexacain/. His current e-mail address of
choice is alexander_cain@yahoo.com. He uses the AOL Instant Messenger
screen names "RSPW98", "AlexACain", & "NetsCainman".
2. What various names or sock puppets has he used?
This is by no means a complete list, but it generally covers Dink's
posting history:
"Ace", "RSPW98", "The Model Poster", "Sherlock Holmes", "Kaufman",
"CainAlex", "Goose", "RSPW2001", "RSPW2002", "Richard Pounds",
"JohnathanHenry", "IPFreely", "KrustyRSPW", "Cainman", plus various
impersonations of other posters when he gets in the mood to start
making racist statements. He has even found a way to impersonate
himself, as part of a convoluted story where Dink claimed that Chad
Bryant was impersonating him in an attempt to have him thrown out of
school.
3. Why is he called "Dink"?
"Dink" is a reference to his diminutive stature. He admits to being
5'6", but photographic evidence points to him being closer to 5'4".
His photos are now widely available.
Another recently invented nickname for Dink is "rrrrrratboy", as
designated by frequent Dink tormentor Mike Serrano.
4. What newsgroups does Dink usually post in?
Dink's home newsgroup is rec.sport.pro-wrestling. He's also a regular
in alt.usenet.kooks (which keeps pretty close tabs on him), and
alt.pizza.delivery.drivers. He recently increased his posting volume
in alt.tv.snl to the point where it almost became a second Dink home.
5. Why is Dink so disliked in those news groups and does he even have
any friends on Usenet, or does everyone dislikes him?
Dink has a nearly seven-year history of causing trouble on Usenet, and
generally being a complete nuisance to whatever group he decides to
post on.
Judging by how much time he spends trying to cause trouble online,
it's safe to assume that he has no friends online or in real life.
Those online who have ever felt sorry enough for him to try being nice
to him have inevitably been stabbed in the back by him.
He also slashes out at people who question his claims about other
people. The very few people who decide to align themselves with Dink
are generally of the same ilk he is - prejudiced, angry, and ignorant.
Dink's of a feather do flock together.
6. What internet providers has Dink used? Has he really been kicked
off almost all of them?
Here is a partial listing of those ISP's he's had so far:
-AOL (at least four accounts; he now has a credit card on file in
AOL's "black list")
-BellSouth (he took advantage of their lax account signup setup to
start at least 15 accounts with them since 1997)
-Abraxis & SpeedFactory (Atlanta-area ISP's)
-Mindspring (now a part of Earthlink)
-Juno/Netzero
-Alltel (the main telco in Milledgeville, and the ISP Dink currently
uses)
-hom.net (small ISP in rural Georgia, also now owned by Earthlink)
-Countless free ISP's
-Earthlink (signed up for another account after the account he had
transferred from hom.net was canned; as of this writing, that account
is history, and he used yet another Earthlink account until it too was
canned).
Dink has been removed from the majority of them because of net.abuse.
He's also had news-only accounts with Usenet.com, GigaNews, & Altopia.
His access to Supernews was through hom.net, and now appears to be
disabled because of abuse complaints. In fact because of his cross
postings while using Supernews, that service started a policy of
banning cross posts between some news groups and they honor requests
to ban cross posts between others.
His internet access with his college has also been severely limited
due to his abuse of their system. The majority of his various Hotmail
and Yahoo e-mail accounts have been removed as well.
7. Does Dink troll IRC?
He has. During the heyday of RSPW-related IRC channels, Dink was
permanently banned by all of them, except for the ones he created
himself.
He has often posted complaints regarding this to RSPW. He has also
occasionally trolled alt.irc.dalnet.
It should be noted that since the revival of RSPW's IRC presence in
early May 2003, Dink has been nowhere to be found.
Whatever IRC logs Dink produces should be immediately scrutinized, as
he has a noted habit of forging logs.
8. Does Dink flame people using Instant Messenger?
It depends on whether or not you consider sending a message that says
"you suck" to be a flame.
However several people from RSPW have reported getting messages from
Dink on AOL-IM, where he would say "you suck" and then signs off. He
uses the AOL-IM name RSPW98 to send these messages.
If you add the name RSPW98 to your AOL buddy list, you will see for
yourself that this name has a habit of signing off within a minute
after signing on, which suggests that he still does this.
Dink has also tried to claim that it's Chad Bryant using the name
RSPW98, just as Dink always tries to claim that it's Bryant anytime
someone accuses a sock of being Dink, or if a new sock tries to flame
Dink.
9. Did Dink once make up a phony story about being in a car accident
in order to get sympathy?
Yes. During the summer of 1998 (just after his big rise to fame as an
RSPW troll), Dink made a post claiming to have just come back from the
hospital from receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a car
accident with his girlfriend. Another poster had noticed that his
previous posting prior to making this claim was only 3 1/2 hours
earlier.
Therefore, according to Dink, he was in a car accident and was taken
to the hospital to be treated in all of 3 1/2 hours, and the first
thing he did when he returned home was to log onto the internet so he
could tell a newsgroup full of people that disliked him about it.
You be the judge.
10. Did Dink once claim to have been fired from a job at Subway
because another person from Usenet forged a e-mail from him that
requested that Subway sponsor a "No Niggers Day"?
He accused Steve "The Avenger" Signorelli of getting him fired from
Subway via a forged e-mail sent by Steve to Subway's headquarters. The
e-mail proposed that Subway implement "No Niggers Day". While the
e-mail was sent, it was not factored into Subway's decision to
terminate Alex's employment. This has all been verified through the
Subway in Griffin where Alex worked.
John Henry adds: The real story behind Dink getting canned from Subway
can be seen by googling his name in the newsgroup triangle.dining,
where you can see - shortly before he was fired - that he made
disparaging remarks about the restaurant and their customers in the
presence of a franchise owner. While it is not possible to prove that
this is the event which cost him his job, the timing involved is
certainly worthy of consideration.
11. Does Dink make racist/bigoted postings?
Yes. In the past, Dink has flooded a group with subjects lines like
"WHY ARE THERE NIGGERS ON THE INTERNET". Many times he does so while
using a sock puppet, or impersonating another poster. He has also made
many posts flaming others based on their race or religion.
12. Did Dink once pretend to have died so that he could see people's
reactions?
Dink didn't do the most obvious pretending, but he certainly
encouraged it. A Usenet troll using the pseudonym "Damien Cain"
claimed to be Dink's brother and did so for over 2 years. While Dink
didn't claim that the guy was his brother, his silence for 2 years
shows that he was in agreement with the con. If he wasn't, he could
have exposed it at any time.
Dink's "brothers" made the claim that Dink had passed away while Dink
was using the "Model Poster" name. Dink played along with it to get
attention.
IRL, Dink has two younger sisters. Some of his more disturbing
comments about them include his boasts to Richard Bullis (see
#22) of having seen both of them naked.
13. Why does Dink hate pizza delivery drivers?
Pizza delivery drivers are a level above pizza shop gopherboys, which
is what Alex was for Pizza Hut and Papa John's. Not surprisingly, he
was fired from both.
14. Why does Dink hate certain Usenet residents so much that he
replies to almost every post they make (including those that
don't even mention him), just so he can flame them?
Dink hates anyone who has figured him out for who and what he really
is. His anger and rage are only limited by the fact that he's
generally too impotent and incompetent to do much of anything. Even
when those users completely ignore him and never reply to his posts,
he continues to respond to their posts, even if the posts have nothing
to do with him.
It's also theorized that Dink does this so that the posts of his main
adversaries (or at least portions of them) will be archived by Google,
regardless of whether or not the original post used no-archive
headers.
17. Does Dink kill file people, while looking for an excuse to mention
them?
Dink likes to kill file anyone who gets the better of him, and with
some of them, he jumps into any thread involving that person or just
mentioning that person in the header.
Of course he likes to continuously remind people why he kill filed a
person verbatim.
16. Has Dink actually taken some of his flame wars into the real
world?
No one knows for sure. Dink is fond of running his mouth and making
threats, but his own ineptitude (coupled with his lack of
transportation) makes it highly unlikely that he's ever done any of
the RL capers he's claimed on Usenet. He seems content (or resigned)
to hide behind a stained keyboard.
17. Did Dink actually call another Usenet poster long distance to
harass him?
Yes. Dink has called Chad Bryant to share the audio from Discovery
Channel or Comedy Central over the telephone. He's also done the same
to John Henry.
18. Did Dink actually threaten to report people to their internet
service providers, or actually did report people to their providers?
In the ultimate PKB, RSPW's most TOSsed troll is among it's most
active self-appointed "netcops". Rather than being motivated for the
sake of the newsgroup, Dink wears the badge only to settle his own
silly internet feuds.
19. Did Dink actually report a fellow poster to that poster's place of
employment for posting from work?
Yes. He contacted the employer of an RSPW regular to report him
posting to RSPW while at work. He's also actively encouraged other
users to harass and intimidate the employers of RSPW posters that he
dislikes.
Recently, Dink was fooled into e-mailing who he thought was Chad
Bryant's boss, attempting to get him fired from a fictional company
that Chad had led Dink into believing was his employer. To read about

20. What is the "Anal Warts Kelly" incident?
A group of "comedians" put up a mock personal website supposedly
belonging to a 17-year-old girl. Dink came across it and
reported it to RSPW, encouraging people go and vandalize her
guestbook. Dink now claims that he knew all along that it was
bogus, but no one who was there at the time believes him. His behavior
was chronicled by the site's creators in their "Hall of Shame". The
site has since been removed by its host.
21. Does Dink like attacking little girls, or those that he thinks are
little girls?
That would appear to be the case. Dink routinely insults the teenage
daughter of RSPW poster John Henry, referring to the girl as a *****,
and threatening JH with taunts that he will call JH's local
authorities to make fraudulent complaints of abuse and neglect. He
also hangs out (and trolls) in newsgroups populated by teenagers, such
as alt.fan.hanson, alt.fan.scream, and alt.fan.harry-potter.
22. Is there any connection between Dink and Richard Bullis?
Dink has recently become a vocal cheerleader for the forces against
Richard "St00pid" Bullis, a certifiable net.kook legend.
In short, Dink does this mostly to make himself look good in
comparison - essentially, becoming the lesser of two evils. Dink
has nothing to do with the current campaign against St00pid, other
than targeting St00pid in frequent responses to his posts.
23. Is there any connection between Dink and Emmett Gulley?
Dink has also attacked AUK whipping boy Emmett Gulley (a diminutive
Florida man who made national headlines over making death threats to
people he encountered in a pro wrestling chatroom), to the point where
AUK decided that Emmett was no longer eligible for any of their
"awards".
While he attacks Emmett for the same reason he attacks Bullis (to look
good in comparison), many feel that Dink is headed down the same road
as Emmett.
24. Dink is disrupting my favorite newsgroup. What do I do?
Well, you're obviously reading this FAQ, and knowledge is power. :)
The usual best course of action in dealing with any troll is to ignore
them, but Dink is hardly the normal troll.
Essentially, the best you can do (other than ridiculing him for being
such a loser) is to inform everyone in your newsgroup of choice about
who they're dealing with. Sending his disruptive posts to his
provider with complete headers is also a good step. Service providers
rarely tolerate abusive users for very long, and the more people who
send in abuse complaints, the more likely a provider is to deal with a
problem user.
25. What "awards" has Dink received?
A highly-decorated kook veteran, Dink has had these titles bestowed
upon his midget *****:

You know not to defend Dink but just how much time does he spend in your
daily thoughts? Has to be more than a person would spend thinking about
anyone else. I mean come on now, do you maintain and post a FAQ for
everyone you know? Get my drift?
