What exactly is a "neocon?"
I hear/see this word used often enough in a negative context, but am
not sure to whom it applies. I guess Bush must be one. But, what
makes a neocon different from a conservative?

================================================================================
It isn't too suprising that I become confused reading various posts.
Try as I might, I cannot see that you have made any offer in this
thread.
Unless I am mistaken, 'Go ***** yourself' is hardly, 'an offer'.
It's a lot of other things though....Not least of which is an
excellent guide into the character of the writer.
You will forgive me for falling around laughing here, won't you Mr
Dreamwalker?
I am currently finding it very difficult to remove an image from my
mind.
I keep 'seeing' you and Dani having an in-depth discussion. Every now
and then an ordinary word emerges, such as, 'and', but the rest is
comprised solely of invective.
It's tempting to write an imagined account of such a conversation. I
must refrain from doing that. It would merely make me laugh still
more.

Wow, a rant from dw and a decent post from cesar, will wonders never
cease?
Ill actually buy most of this. However, I dont think lumping all
conservatives into isolationists is entirely accurate. I think most
traditional conservatives believe that America should still maintain
some presence in the world.
Also, although I still dont claim a complete understanding of the
attribution of the word "neocon," from common usage it at least seems
in some way to refer to being extremely pro-Israeli. Might be part of
the globalist policy, but still seems to mean that the individual
unreasonably favors Israel.
Explains a lot though, like why Bush would support long-time senator
Specter over a more conservative Republican candidate in the primaries
(Toomey sp? lost to Specter 51-49 percent in a recent primary--pretty
awful for an encumbant with presidential support to win by such a
small margin). Also, would explain some of Bush's support for
typically non-conservative items like the Patriot Act and a weak
approach toward illegal aliens. Since he managed to get into a
position of opposition with democrats/liberals rather than more
moderate and/or traditional republicans, it seems as if he has the
support of a larger portion of the country than he really has.

Al Gore and Kerry too. Anyone who accepts contributions from the big
corporations must do what they want. Neocons would support both sides. In
fact the PNAC document was intended for Clinton when he was in power.
Difference between the Republican Neocons and the Democratic Neocons IMO is
that the Republicans are the favoured ones of the Military Industrial
Complex whereas the Democrats are supported by the Big Consumer Goods
Conglomerates. This is because traditionally, Democrats do not believe in
big military spending while Republicans do. In any case, the Neocons
believe in the One World idea: the Democrats by world economic domination
by making trade deals, the Republicans by world military domination by
outright invasions or threat of it.
Either way, America's Manifest Destiny of the 21st century is global. It
cannot be any other way. The big corporations have their money invested all
over the world in their search for more profits. They are not "buying"
goods from third world countries like in "trade" of the old days; they are
their "workers" making goods for the American and world consumer with
American machinery, American investment, American management, American
design. The economies of those countries are now totally dependent on the
U.S. while the investors need assurance that their investments are safe. So
it is only logical that the U.S. Administration wants control over those
governments and the best way to control, according to the Republican Neocons
is not a Clinton style dealmaking but military force, should they step out
of line. That is the meaning of Empire: the creation of One Civilization by
assimilating or destroying competing ones. Problem with this idea is that
it runs diametrically opposite to fundamentalist Islam, which sees
materialism and consumerism as Evil.

Never mind my take on Neoconism. Here's the link I found on Neocon 101.
http://www.csmonitor.com/specials/neocon/neocon101.html
Its philosophy of conquest by military means is the road to Armageddon.
(They must really have a deluded vision that God is on their side to make
them invincible that they actually think like that.)

Geez, dw, didnt expect that from you. Did I hit a nerve?
Clinton was a neo-con, then!
S~
============================================================================

And there I was, waiting for a response to that question. I keep on
seeing it too Shast...but it's unknown on this side of the Atlantic.
It must be important..simply through it's popular usage...but I too,
have no concept of it's meaning.
I've just opened this groups messages and saw a reply made to your
question. Now, thought Rick, now I will understand this probably
political term.
I presume I am right in believing that the word, 'Neocon', doesn't
in
fact mean, 'Go ***** yourself?' I hope that's so...otherwise I would
have to re-assess an awful lot of posts made here!
Was Dreamy being helpful in supplying the definition? Or was he
exhibiting symptoms often found in ignorant, uneducated and
loud-mouthed youths?
;)
Well, one has to smile...I suppose it's too be expected really. We
all
originated from climbing from an original pool of slime. It appears
that some people chose to remain there.

Werewolf:
Pat Buchanan, Ross Perot: traditional Conservatives
George Bush, ***** Cheney: Neo-Conservatives.
Difference? Traditional conservatives believe in an "America for
Americans" policies, the Monroe Doctrine. They are AGAINST free
trade,
against immigration, against America meddling in foreign problems such
as
policing the world. They are FOR low taxes, minimum government
intrusion,
individual rights and individual freedom. Neo-Conservatives OTOH
believe
in the "World for Americans" policies. They are globalists, big
multinational corporations, the "elites" of the world. They believe
in
free
trade, unhindered access to world markets, one world economic and
financial
system to be controlled by America, of course, "New World Order",
"Project
for an American Century", Empire.
The Neo-cons may not necessarily be Conservatives. Tony Blair is a
Liberal
but also a neo-con. The Europeans saw American world domination
developing
and created the EU, their own free trade economic and financial block
to
counter American domination. Unfortunately, the EU has no military
might
unless they let Russia in, which NATO will never allow, so it will be
absorbed by the New World Order, despite the efforts of Germany and
France.
Neocon = New Rome
cesar
Well thanks for a thought out reply. Not many of those in a.p.n.
Yet, C. if some of the Neo-con applies than Bill Clinton
administration is, were, and was more Neo-con than Bush.
1999 Kosovo war... remember that? That was against U.N. and not in
American interests.
Clinton was a globalist
Clinton was big multinational corporations ( See Hutchinson Wampoa and
PLA armies Co's)
Clinton and Strobe T. were promoting "New World Order."
The Clinton "Project for an American Century", was to Empire U.N.
under communism with a few world RICH leaders like himself running the
show.
Al Gore and Kerry too. Anyone who accepts contributions from the big
corporations must do what they want. Neocons would support both sides.
In
fact the PNAC document was intended for Clinton when he was in power.
Difference between the Republican Neocons and the Democratic Neocons IMO
is
that the Republicans are the favoured ones of the Military Industrial
Complex whereas the Democrats are supported by the Big Consumer Goods
Conglomerates. This is because traditionally, Democrats do not believe in
big military spending while Republicans do. In any case, the Neocons
believe in the One World idea: the Democrats by world economic domination
by making trade deals, the Republicans by world military domination by
outright invasions or threat of it.
Either way, America's Manifest Destiny of the 21st century is global. It

Thanks Cesar. It was a mystery to me, but it did always appear to have
a political context. That helps a lot.
It's not known over here at all. Mind, most of the in-fighting etc
regarding the US election isn't really taken a great deal of notice of
by anyone, other than the media. People have a habit of switching off
their minds when the Tv reports those 'goings-on' ;)
I may be in America late this year...not sure. It's as well that I
know the term. I can imagine someone passing and suggesting I 'Was
Neocon' and, believing Dreamy's translation, reacted rather...badly ;)
That was kind of you to take the trouble to respond...Thanks.

It's equivalent to "*****" - "***** off" - when you say "bloody"
instead of fucking that's weird to me; as "go ***** yourself" is weird
to you.
Hmmm.. let's rearrange the words:
"Go and bloody ***** yourself off!"
LOL!

What personality are you supposed to be today, little doggy? The fool who
threw his daughters' cat/pretended to throw his daughter's cat off the
balcony is giving lessons on how someone should act, and speak. Sorry,
fool. You live in a glass house, and have no credibility here.

Sticks and stones, right? You not liking the way I "talk" in nothing
compared to coming on here and saying you've thrown your daughters cat
from the balcomy because Grantland "made (you) do it!!!" If that's

It was supposed to be a joke anyway because you brought up how we say
"go ***** yourself" - and you guys say "bloody" and a lot of things
concerning "*****" .. guess you missed it.

It's worth a response, which is a lot more than I can say for the
madman who stalks me (below) known as Davis. He is beneath contempt.
You are not so Dani.
No, I don't like the way you swear and the frequency with which you do
it. It isn't very nice, and it certainly isn't needed.
I'm not certain just what comparative international invective
terminology has to do with it though. You style of swearing is also
popular in the UK. There are many ways to degrade yourself, if that is
your wish.
I just thought you were better than that. I feel (an honest belief)
that you could raise yourself to be above such things.
