Sticking with our recent theme of nuclear bombs, Slate is running an
outstanding (and chilling) article by Ron Rosenbaum about semi-
automated nuclear weapon fail-deadly launch systems, including the
Soviet-era "Doomsday Machine", Peremitr AKA Dead Hand.
The article results from the publication of the book Doomsday Men,
which has spawned a worthwhile reading in Wired Blogs and the Times
