No, he's not insane.
At least not the way doctors would classify as insane.

But there are some people who make-up their reality as they go along.
These types believe that if they say something, it becomes the truth.

They do not even think of themselves as liars.
They live in a sort of make-believe world, like children.

This condition becomes a serious problem when soldiers lives are in the
hands of someone like this.
