I suspect life originated in a simiilar manner. Once it existed, it
became possible for it to mutate and evolve. The rest is a logical
progression from that point.

Why? Like I said, you juggle enough random numbers you can get complex
but apparently meaningful results. Time is apparently infinite and if
you juggle chemical compounds in the right environment LONG ENOUGH (a
few million years ought to do it - but a moment really) it's very
likely that something called 'life' could result. The problem we have
is that we have great difficulty perceiving such long time frames.

Except you are arguing that the 'design' had to be intelligent, when in
fact it's very likely that it was a random sequence of events that led
to the first life forms. This requires neither intelligence nor design.
Once life began, it could (and apparently did) mutate. This led to
different species and natural selection started the long process of
producing more and varied life forms. A few more million years and you
have multicelled animals, a few more and you have vertebrates and
ultimately you could get intelligent life.

Which is why I don't believe in God. No facts to support it. There
are facts to support evolution however. Therefore it is far more
likely that life originated and evolved without some divine being
starting the process. If this supposed God demonstrated his existence
I'd have something to believe in, but there seems to be nothing but the
faith of the faithful, which is a circular argument in any terms.

Doubtless. It's a blank slate, initially it learns and adapts to its
environment, the benefit of intelligence means that it can also adapt
its environment to it, when it is grown.

Your statement is illogical. That a baby is born and can learn
demonstrates only that it can be born and learn. It doesn't
demonstrate intelligent design, only a derivation of life that has
evolved to intelligence.

Again you discount that fact that given TIME ENOUGH and Natural
Selection, such complex systems are in fact possible and perhaps even
likely, given that when a favourable mutation (such as intelligence)
occurs, it conveys a powerful survival benefit.

Absolutely. But how? I'd LIKE there to be a God. Unfortunately, I
don't think there is. Why unfortunately? When I die, if there is no
God, and I have no immortal soul, I will simply cease to exist. Game
over.
Obviously I'd prefer that not to be the case.
