Ignoring the fact that, Nostradamus interpretations are NOT
monolithic, Perhaps you could add like the Quatrain or some reference
and like which book?
But I know of no August 2004 Comet.

Yes !!!!! ... Asteroid Toutatis should be bright enough to be seen
with binoculars near Alpha Centauri (one of the Southern Cross

If U can see it with the naked eye (well I know U have much better

Will be making a *very* close fly-by to earth (in astronomical terms,

so will be much more brilliantly visible in August and September than
it is now ! Probably even brighter than Venus, Alpha Centauri or

1: Technically speaking, Alpha Centauri is NOT one of the Southern Cross

entirely different constallation than Centaurus.

It WILL NOT be "brilliantly visible" at any time whatsoever. Venus shines
at a bright magnitude, and in July will in fact be -4.7. Alpha Centauri and
Arcturus are bright stars, (first magnitude). Toutatis, regardless of how
close it gets (and it's orbit brings it close, and then far away), is a
small object, and reflects sunlight, not very well. It's magnitude will be
around 3.5, about the same as a dim star, and not visible from with bright
city lights around.

From http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/mystery_monday_040503.html
On Sept. 29, backyard skywatchers on Earth can find Toutatis,
providing they know where to look.
Toutatis won't be visible to the unaided eye. Ordinary binoculars should
be sufficient for spotting it if the sky is clear and dark, says Alan
Harris, of the Space Science Institute in Boulder, CO.
Probably even brighter than Venus, Alpha Centauri or Arcturus is now
Not even close, being that it's NOT a 'naked eye' object.

WHAT naked eye comet near the Southern Cross????????
Wally, an ASTRONOMER in Aus.
It's been there about 2 weeks now. If you look about 7 pm is it is above the
pointers about a full hand and a half(I only have little hands though<G>).
By 9.30 pm it is out from the hightest point(that is highest from the
horizon) on the cross itself Again about a hand and a half.. Sorry I cannot
be more specific. I am not into astonomy speak. It is a little more
difficult to pick up now with the moon almost full. But if you know where to
look it is still visible. Tonight when I was looking I also found a similar
object right next to that highest point on the cross as well. Not sure what
that is. there is a fuzzy spot with lots of stars(when you look through the
binos) but there is aslo a fuzzy spot I cannot get good focus on. Tomorrow
night I will get out the telescope for a good look.
I will try to do a crash course in knowing the names of the stars that make
up the Southern Cross if you can't find it.

You are mistaken. There IS NO COMET near the Southern Cross, naked eye
visible or not. Anything that has been there for 2 weeks now, has been there
for thousands of years.
You are probably seeing the Jewel Box, or from your description, Omega
Centauri, a Globular Cluster that is several thousand light years away.

Centaurus A, a distant galaxy.

Having just had a look at an astronomy page it may be a Globular star
cluster. Odd that I have never noticed it before. I spend a lot of ti me
staring at the stars and planets. Must have caught my eye on a darker than
normal night meybe and nowing it was there I can now find it easy.
Maybe you can tell me if that is all it is. I did find a comet once and by
the time I found out how report it some guy in Western Australia had his
name on it. From memory he shares it with a guy in Japan who discovered it
at the same time.
The other object I mentioned would be the Jewel Box would it?
I was under hte impression there were a coulpe of comets around at this
time.

What event in August? I haven't seen any event that are predicted to happen in
August by any serious exegete.
Of course, if you are asking about the 500th, the Nostradamus celebration
gathering in Provence is a month sooner, in a few days, beginning of July, in
Salon. http://www.provenceweb.fr/e/specials.htm
Speaking of celebration, been a less around, as today is Quebec celebration day,

But tell us what you read in what book about August and a comet?

Very likely. But not for the reason you think.
It is hard to foresee the future with any clarity, even with the prophecies. We
usually only know that it was exactly after it afterwards. This is because
otherwise, if Nostradamus had been open about the dates and events, the
prophecies wouldn't have made it to us, or else the occurrence of the events
would be hidden from the public, so much the (religious & political) powerful
want absolute power.
Of course you are free to dismiss that nature of the prophecies. But those who
have a special interest to be on these NG do not.

You just have to love the kooks of the world! Yes, time will tell. When
August 19th comes and goes without incident it'll be great hearing the
excuses from the assclowns that believe all this nonsense.
People are so ***** stupid.
I'd like to thank the parents and teachers of the world for doing such a
great job with the children.....
It's quite easy to predict the future of the path of a comet, with
some degree of certainty. There is no approaching comet, unless you
wish to claim that thousands of amateur astronomers are part of an
international conspiracy to hide the truth.....

Hey Jean, I have a huge collection of books like that, It's always a
good exercise to see what the extreme are saying.
The simple critical thing to think about comets and approaching rocks
of doom is this:
MILLIONS (yes, millions) of amateur astronomers look at the skies.
Every single one of them would love to discover a comet or something.
There are well established and readily available mechanisms for this.
Many have extraordinarily sophisticated equipment. As proof of this,
see how many shops and magazines there are around the world dedicated
to AMATEUR astronomy.
So for all of them to keep quiet about an approaching rock of doom
requires a conspiracy of suitably international proportions.
Well, in any case, thanks.
I'll still tell you about its content and its author when I receive
it... even if to confirm what you just inferred, that he is a fraud...
Let me know, I'm genuinely interested. I'll probably look for the book
myself. Mostly so I can bag him out when the time comes
Who knows, maybe he has an excuse.
They usually do.

Hi Wally,
The guy bases his assertion on quatrain 10,72, the one about a king of
terror visiting the king of angoulême in 1999... he says that
Nostradamus meant August 2004. LOL
And speaks of some astrological signs, god knows where he takes them.
This is on one and a half page(s) on 10,72. The rest of the book is
interpretations about other quatrains, in the begining to support his
theory, and to locates this war of the future which he pretends will
start in 2001 (the book was written in 2001). He doesn't see that the
only quatrains that dates anything about the thrid world war speak of
the years beginnign 2023.
He also speak of those quatrains on the past, some of these are valid,
taken out from other exegetes probably. It is a rich book, full of
interpretations, except that his main approach is totally flawed. The
rest may be too...
This book seems to be there just to have on its cover the big fright of
the "Comet of Nostradamus" impact of august 2004, with a big ball of
fire as illustration, obviously playing on people's fear to sell.
I can scan you his 10,72 interpretation if you wish, so that yiou see
what the cover really is about.
J.
In fact, I should add that he rates the prophecies!
Hence, theoritically, given that they are all exact, all those he
doesn't rate 10 really are because he didn't find the exact occurence or
doesn't get their wording/implication.
95% are not rated 10. See what I mean? But nonetheless, it is an
interesting essay.

Thanks for the information. I just bought that book at Amazon. I'll have to look
into it before I know if it is any good, but one never knows, he may have found
something I missed, even though to start with, it is very hard to peg the future
until it is upon us, even when we know the time line... But this may very well
be (upon us). Anyway, I'll read it and I'll keep you posted i.e. give my opinion
here after when I get the book. :-)
