EDMONTON - A judge handed a Two Hills man an 18-month sentence Friday for
promoting hatred on his website in what is being called a groundbreaking
Internet hate-crime case.
Reni Sentana-Ries was convicted last December by a jury on one count of
promoting hatred through his site called Federation of Free Planets, which
denies the Holocaust and says Jews created diseases such as AIDS and Ebola.
Court of Queen's Bench Justice Philip Clarke gave the 63-year-old jail time
instead of a conditional sentence and prohibited him from using the Internet
for 36 months. He also ordered the "appalling" website shut down. It still
operates out of the United States.
The maximum sentence was two years.
"There is a complete absence of any mitigating circumstances except for the
first time offence and an absence of remorse," Clarke said.
"He sincerely believes the hate he has posted on his website."
Crown prosecutor Steven Bilodeau said the case sets "a benchmark" for
similar Internet hate cases.

You mean the ones like me?
The ones that have come up with patent numbers of AIDS cures
coincidently held by leaders of the actual sandrehein?
Does this upset you when thesse things come to light or that yo' foks
are involved? If it's the latter... why don't you just condemn these

Without taking the time to read you complete POST there 'Jean':
Canada does have a 'distinction' of being a country that has a 'loose
tolerance' when it comes to "Hatred Posts" from any faction or
religeous group. - some call it the "True Meaning Of 'Freedom Of
Speech'."
But, we still take the time to 'separate' the "Freedom Speakers" - from
the "Hate Mongers".
We just don't believe in "Shoot First, And Ask Questions Later !!!"
Canadian justice has always been a Canadian Dish "Served With Caution"
(as not to burn the hands of the server, or the innocent), and served
"At Just The Right Time" !!! [ just a reminder of the FLQ Situation of
the 70s. ]
"Extreme Situations" require "Extreme Actions" - but not before those
situations can be deemed "Extreme".{ Zundal(SP-?) was deemed 'Extreme'
- and rapidly disposed of - in a just way. ]
This is why I can feel PROUD to say "I AM CANADIAN".
[Tolerance - within a 'publically contolled' tolerant state.]

I have no problem with that Amendment either (to Canadian Law).
Those with a DEMENTED MIND of Religious Hatred (and especially Child
Molestation) need to be eradicated from Public Forums - PERIOD !!!
At least here in Canada.
Just My Thoughts.
