U.S. Needs To Bomb Iran Now To Prevent A Global Nuclear War

Strange as it may seem to those who are infected with the disease of
negotiate/appease/retreat/surrender and who are unaware of where we
are and what is happening as we face World War IV, the only way to
prevent almost certain international catastrophe and global nuclear
war, is to bomb Iran and take out its nuclear capability.
If we don't do that, Iran will get a nuclear weapon and, with
leadership of madmen, they will do what they have promised. They will
use nukes for war and terror. Remember that their first objectives are
to control the Middle East and to blackmail Europe into further
submission (it has already virtually surrendered to the oncoming tide
of Islamofascism). With nukes, which they will soon have, and with
missiles, which they are developing with the help of North Korea, they
will be able to threaten the world. They intend to do that, so as to
impose Islamofascism on the world.
If you want more details on why bombing Iran is the safest course in
an unsafe world facing dangerous options, you should read the lead
article in Commentary magazine (June 2007) by Norman Podhoretz, "The
Case for Bombing Iran." Podhoretz is one of clearest thinkers on the
war on terror and ranks with some of the other giants such as Charles
Krauthhammer, Mark Steyn, and Paul Johnson.
Podhoretz views 9/11 as the start of World War IV, the Cold War having
been World War III. He also sees Iraq and Afghanistan "as fronts or
theaters that have been opened up in the early stages of a protracted
global struggle." He views Iran as the center of that struggle and as
the main sponsor of terrorism. It's efforts to build a nuclear arsenal
"makes it potentially the most dangerous one of all."
We stopped the U.S.S.R. from imposing communism worldwide as Stalin
and his successors tried to do. Now we are faced with an attempt to
impose Islamofascism worldwide. What too many Americans don't realize
is that their attempt has already had striking success, especially in
Europe, which is predicted to be Eurabia before long, and even in the
U.S.
Here are a few examples from Podhoretz's work, showing how the
Islamization of Europe is already far advanced:
Schools in England are eliminating lessons about the crusades because
"such lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques."
The British press also reports "schools in England are dropping the
Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils ...
whose beliefs include Holocaust denial."
Without firing a shot, the Muslims are dictating the curriculum of
schools in England. And the capitulation on domestic policy has also
taken place on foreign policy.
The Iranians capture fifteen British sailors and marines and hold them
hostage. Did the British respond to an act of war? Did they take
action or even issue threats? No, Britain chose polite, low-key
diplomacy.
To complete the British humiliation, the European Union refused to
threaten Iran with a freeze of imports. The UN refused to even condemn
the Iranians, and the Security Council only expressed "grave concern."
Yes, Europe, the corrupt UN and the feeble EU have already surrendered
to Islamofascism.

Some appeasers say the free world can live with a nuclear Iran, just
as we lived with the Soviet Union. But listen to what the leading
authority on the Islamic world, Bernard Lewis, has to say about co-
existence with Islamofascism:
"MAD, mutual assured destruction, [was effective] right through the
Cold War. Both sides had nuclear weapons. Neither side used them,
because both sides knew the other would retaliate in kind. This will
not work with a religious fanatic [like Ahmadinejad]. For him, mutual
assured destruction is not a deterrent, it is an inducement. We know
already that [Iran's leaders] do not give a damn about killing their
own people in great numbers. We have seen it again and again. In the
final scenario, and this applies all the more strongly if they kill
large numbers of their own people, they are doing them a favor. They
are giving them a quick free pass to heaven and all of its delights."
They are willing to use nukes and to give them to terrorists, as the
prime supporter of world terrorism. Our appease, retreat, defeat and
surrender wing of the Democratic Party doesn't seem to appreciate what
nuclear terrorism means, but a blue ribbon panel has just told us. The
Preventive Defense Project at Harvard and Stanford University is about
to release a report, The Day After: Action in the 24 Hours Following a
Nuclear Blast in an American City.
The New York Post obtained an advance copy, and it reports on some of
the many horrific effects of a blast in a city like New York,
Washington, D.C., or Philadelphia:
"Over 50 percent of people in a two-mile blast area would die or
suffer major injuries.
"Most buildings would be severely damaged or destroyed.
"People just outside the blast would 'stand little chance of survival.
"A radioactive plume would spread from five to ten square miles.
"The downtown would be completely 'obliterated.'"
That's what the Islamofascists and especially the Iranians are
planning for us now, why we are sweet-talking them in pointless and
counterproductive negotiating sessions. Western nations are apparently
so beaten down they answer terrorism, murder, and plots of genocide
with diplomatic niceties and negotiating maneuvers. Do we have the
courage to defeat Islamofascism?
Podhoretz argues we can no more negotiate peace with the Iranians than
we could with Hitler, who offered only two choices: resistance or
submission. Negotiating with Hitler would only give him more time.
Even this Hitler comparison does not hold a parallel to Iran today.
Podhoretz points out many believed or at least talked themselves into
believing that Hitler had no more demands to make after Munich. But
now, no one is foolish enough to believe that Iran doesn't want to
develop a nuclear arsenal. Everyone also agrees Iran should be stopped
before it has a nuke, but they also seem to think that military force
should not be used.
So how is Iran's nuclear ambition to be thwarted? Sanctions rarely
work and often just hurt the people of the country to which they are
directed without stopping the policies for which sanctions are
imposed. Furthermore, with China and Russia cozy with Iran, there will
be no meaningful sanctions. Therefore, Podhoretz concludes: "In short,
the plain and brutal truth is that if Iran is to be prevented from
developing a nuclear arsenal, there is no alternative to the actual
use of military force - any more than there was an alternative to
force if Hitler was to be stopped in 1938."
How much time do we have before Iran goes nuclear? Estimates are all
over the lot, and some put nukes almost upon us. But we can't afford
to be wrong and wait too long. What Bush said about Iraq applies with
great force to Iran. Here's the way he put it in his 2002 State of the
Union address: "We'll be deliberate, yet time is not on our side. I
will not wait on events, while dangers gather. I will not stand by, as
peril draws closer and closer. The United States of America will not
permit the world's most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the
world's most destructive weapons."
Our fate is in the balance. It is no exaggeration to say the survival
of the U.S. and the free world depend on whether Bush is willing to
act boldly in the face of the Iranian threat or whether the forces of
appeasement and surrender will prevail. We will have to see whether,
for once, we have learned the lessons of history, or whether we are
about to repeat the 1938 scenario with Ahmadinejad instead of Hitler,
and our domination by Islamofascism rather than the miraculous escape
from domination by Nazism. We better start playing our cards right and
right now, or we will soon have no cards to play.
