Thought I would let you know, I have a working 1980's 'Vanishing
Filament Pyrometer'.
Add that one to the spectroscope and a few other similar things I
found the other day, and I might build a spaceship...;)
What is it? Yes, I wondered too. That's why I bought the thing!
It's an instrument equipped with a small 'scope and which will give
you a reading on a dial of the temperature of any very hot object the
device is trained at. It will register between 700c and 1,400c
temperature.
I had though it might be useful...should I approach the entrance to
Hell. I could check the temperature and perhaps even be allowed to be
in charge of temperature control down there?

1,400c? Hmmm.. Does that mean the thing will break if you wanted to set it
any higher? hehe he
