UK security fears Christmas terror

BRITAIN'S security services reportedly fear a Christmas bombing campaign by
al-Qaeda terrorists.
But police say they have no intelligence that would prompt the issue of
specific warnings.
Early editions of The Sunday Times report the police and MI5 security service
are worried about simultaneous attacks on soft targets like shopping centres.
Unidentified security sources have told the paper suspects that are under
surveillance have carried out possible reconnaissance or dummy runs for attacks
on commercial centres.
But London's Metropolitan Police, who remain on a high state of alert, wouldn't
confirm any specific concerns about soft targets.
Police around the country have carried out searches and made a series of
arrests in the past week, detaining suspects under anti-terrorism legislation.
Two of the nine people arrested have been released.

Why oh why do you post these things Tony?
It's the standard 'take care' message to Christmas shoppers that has
been released every early December for decades. The last 30 years
message has been 'Watch out for a possible IRA campaign on the
mainland'.
It means nothing. It says nothing. It's a reminder to people to be
vigilant that's all.
So, why do you post something so everyday and uninteresting?

Keep your eyes on Russia and Zimbabwe, two hot spots in the next
couple of months. As for Christmas, Israel is probably in for a lot of
bombings from Dec.16th to the new year.
