FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - APN fixture, Dreamwalker, a.k.a., dimwanker,
dimmy, dungwalker, was killed Friday when he was hit by friendly fire in
Falluja.
A Coalition spokesman in Baghdad confirmed Dreamwalker was hit by "at
least 8 or 9 rounds."
Staff Sargeant Gary Linnel, with the 1st Infantry in Falluja, said his
platoon was "shocked" when a tank stopped at their position and a man
exited quickly from the tank, running in front of his platoon's heavy
fire. Previous reports that Dreamwalker was with their platoon are
inaccurate, according to Linnel.
"I saw a guy come out of a tank, screaming and laughing, waving a flag and
firing into the air with his AK-47," Linnel said. "We were unable to stop
firing fast enough to keep from hitting him numerous times."
An investigation has been ordered.
