This is a grim read.
Impeach Bush and Cheney -- how many more reports have to be
declassified to show they lied your country into a war that cannot be
won.
Your troops have to pulled back to the sidelines and let the Iraqi's
sort this out on their own. Secure the borders and limit chance of it
engulfing the whole region.
The mess your Idiot In Chief has created in the Middle East is quite
spectacular.
Cheers,
Marvin

MIAMI (Reuters) - Army Lt. Col. Donald Robinson is no stranger to
bloodshed. As a civilian he served as a trauma surgeon at Cooper
Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, a city so violent he says doctors call
it the "Knife and Gun Club."
Nothing in Camden could fully prepare him for what he saw as chief of
surgical and critical care at the U.S. Army's premier medical facility
in Iraq, however. He put in long hours there from December 2004
through July 2005.
Improved body armor and medical care mean more soldiers survive war
injuries in Iraq than in past conflicts, and Robinson said well-
trained army medics are making a big difference.
But Robinson said the injuries caused by Iraq's dreaded improvised
explosive devices are unlike anything seen in combat before, posing
constant challenges for army field surgery specialists in a conflict
that has been dubbed the "Superbowl of Trauma."
Robinson says he can't remember how many amputations he performed as
chief of trauma and director of the intensive care unit at the 86th
Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad.

Oh, that was way back in 2004-2005, Marvin. Iraq is safe now! Didn't
McCain just prove that by walking around Bagdad with a mere 100 human
shields ... er, soldiers. (And to think I was planning on voting for him
if he'd gotten the Republican nomination! What a creep!)

McCain's OD'd on the NeoCon Kool Aid it seems. I'd be surprised if he
makes it to the primarys.
Chuck Hagel might win some centrist votes if he decides to run -- he's
not from the Religious Right AFAIK but he's still pretty hardcore
conservative (well to the Right of the political spectrum) I've heard.
Guiliani is a joke plus he won't garner the support due of his stand
on abortion.
Romney I don't know much about -- he has a funny first name.
As far as Baghdad security goes, the surge has pushed the violence to
the surrounding cities. Twice as many Iraqi police have been killed/
murdered this month compared to last since the surge began. The
insurgents have the advantage because they're not walking targets like
U.S. personnel are -- they can hide in the open as part of the
population. Bush's incompetence thru no WMD's, no security, little to
no reconstruction of vital infrastructure, torture, de-Bathification
and the alienation politically of the Sunni's has given the insurgency
legitimacy. Iraqi's want the U.S. out. Americans want the U.S. out.
Bush continues to live on in a state of denial.
Cheers!
