US Poll: 54% of Americans Say Iraq War a Mistake |
Wonder if George has time to change his election plank to something he
hasn't screwed up ... or to something a majority of U.S. voters hasn't
noticed he screwed up.
-----------------------------------------------------
US Poll: 54% of Americans Say Iraq War a Mistake
VOA News
25 Jun 2004, 11:15 UTC
A poll shows a big swing in U.S. public opinion against the war in Iraq
this month, with a majority of Americans now saying they believe the United
States made a mistake in sending troops to Iraq.
Fifty-four percent of those who took part in a survey conducted by the
Gallup polling organization for CNN television and the newspaper USA Today
say U.S. military involvement in Iraq was a mistake -- the first time that
opinion has been expressed by a majority of Americans.
The Gallup poll asked the same question on six earlier occasions since
March 2003. During the first days of the war, 75 percent of Americans said
they felt U.S. military action was the right course; since October, between
40 and 44 percent of those polled have said the U.S. military involvement
was a mistake.

CNN/USA Today Poll.
LOL!!!
Yeah, that's not biased.
Try polling middle America, the south, etc. you'll get like a 70% approval for
the war effort.

Well, if you poll any specfic group the numbers will change. If you were to
poll only the Northeast, the numbers would likely be far higher than 54%.

What part of "like", exactly, are you failing to grasp? Or, are you so out of
touch with the demographics of your own country as to be completely unaware that
the majority of Americans live in greater urban areas? (That means cities and
their associated suburban areas, just so you know ....).

Uh, seriously, are you retarded?
The demographics of most major cites, especially those listed above, are no
where near that of the country as a whole.
According to the 2000 Cenus the USA is about 75% white, those cites are nowhere
near that level.
(That means cities
and their associated suburban areas, just >so you know ....).
That's not what Dani's post said, don't try your little twists with me.
She tried to imply that "Detroit, Chicago, Boston, New York and Philly" were
representative of the USA as a whole, they're not, not even close.
All of those cities are overwhelmingly run by Dems, whereas the USA as a whole
has Rep. President, Senate and House of Rep.
Get a clue, you're looking very foolish in this debate.

New York State is not, and that comprises nearly half the Northeast.
Lately, New York State has been a lock for the Democratic Presidential

Hampshire is not a large State.

Wisconsin and Minnesota is also ultra liberal. Our taxation in Wisconsin is hell on earth. The feds
have lessened up on us through the latest, small business friendly tax changes. State government is
chasing away prospective manufacturing. Property taxes are driving the elderly out of their homes.
Sad, very sad. And the neolibs say they're for the disadvantaged. Hogwash.
I guess it could be worse. I could live in either Europe or Canada. What is Canada's top rate? 85%.

Steven, Tony was making up a false story about me: "You don't work,

Your statement above merely indicates your complete and utter lack of knowledge
of how polls are conducted, as well as the basic statistical analyses theories
on which polling is based.
One does not merely poll the same amount of people in one area as another. If
one were to do so, the poll results would not be an accurate indication of the
population at large. I invite you to take a look at population densities in the
various regions to consider one possibility as to why this is the case ...

The South? Gee.. I wonder why.
From what I've been hearing, Bush is losing a lot of support in Mississippi.
Lots of Christian conservatives there (apparently the big thing there is to
go
to the most conservative Christian church you can find), and an awful lot of
them hate Bush.
Try major cities like Detroit, Chicago, Boston, New York and Philly.
Well, Tony doesn't seem to understand that a "national poll" already includes
middle America, and the South.

I be willing to bet a lot of money that CNN did not Poll the same amount of
people in middle America as it did in NorthEast liberal cities.
Your statement above merely indicates your complete and utter lack of knowledge
of how polls are conducted, as well as the basic statistical analyses theories
on which polling is based.
One does not merely poll the same amount of people in one area as another. If
one were to do so, the poll results would not be an accurate indication of the

You should explain that CNN. Their idea of a poll is to question 80% dems and 20% repub to obtain
data. Sad, liberal driven media. If you want accurate polling, check out Zogby.

The Gallup poll asked the same question on six earlier occasions since
March 2003. During the first days of the war, 75 percent of Americans said
they felt U.S. military action was the right course; since October, between
40 and 44 percent of those polled have said the U.S. military involvement
was a mistake.
the scales slowly seem to be falling from their eyes. Alas,
alack...too late.

Since the terrorist insugency in Iraq seems to be the cause of the
change in US opinion polls, does your statement about the scales
falling from their eyes imply your approval for the terrorist
insurgency?
