The US apparently had a strategy of energy control for many years.
Otherwise, it wouldn't have suported Saddam in his war against Iran.
The major strategy failure happened back in the 90ties. When Iraq Invaded
Kuwait, The US should have invaded Iran. Iran was licking it's wounds from
the Iraq Iran War and Letting Saddam gain control over Kuwait could be made
a worry for later. He didn't threaten oil flow for anyone that I know of.
The US chose to do it the other way around. One would almost say Iraq and
Iran got mixed up as names in the US somehow (again and again my view on US
average IQ gets confirmed over the years).
This strategy failure gets the US bogged down 'Vietnam style' and their war
on energy will be lost forever.
Russia and China will benifit most from this strategy failure. I can't
imagine any country dumb enough not seing this coming. The us certainly
surprised me with it's dumbness. Well, it's the way they are. Rome declined
over this kind of issues also so just wait until some crazy emporer thinks
of buring New York. (I wonder what happened at 9/11, did it happen with or
without knowledge)
