An after shock. They've had 2 more since then. One just came in
Yeah, typically, a shock of this magnitude has a series of strong
aftershocks. Poor housing construction usually results in a high
death/injury toll. It's a bit unusual to have one so powerful in that
specific location, but on
Jan. 26, 2001, India had a magnitude 7.9; at least 2,500 killed. Estimates
put death toll as high as 13,000.
