The US army of course uses the best it has and it is just "scrap".
If the US armour vehicles and tanks haven't turned into scrap by now,
the Iraqi resistance in the triangle of death must have accomplished
nothing.

It has come to light that a reporter planted this question to some troops he
was imbedded with. If the reporter had done any research, he would have
known that the "armouring-up" of vehicles was a priority already and has
been happening faster than expected. The soldier that asked the question was
about to head North in an armoured vehicle. He had never personally been to
a landfill.....

If true, which is may in part for a small part, but not the whole army
, the USA Army should be conquered by Friday, eh? I bet it was a Dan
RAthER plant - to get back at internet Bushes for embarrassing his
propaganda campaign ;)

We still have "armor" (tanks and such). What we are putting armor on are
what used to be called "jeeps" and on trucks.
Soldiers did ad hoc improvement during WW2, building plows to cut through
the hedge rows of France. And we did not have rifles, so the troops trained
with broom handles until production increased.
Also our soldiers tend to be mouthy, and the officers encourage them to be
so. What you saw with SPC Winston is typical, even if the reporters put him
up to it. Rumsfeld has had a number of Townhall meets over there. And ever
time someone brings up questions. Rumsfeld likes it that way as it gets him
to the heart of what is bothering the troops.
