Hizbullah: We Have 12,000 Missiles Directed At Israel

Beirut, May 25: In a major address, in the presence of many of his local political allies
including
Walid Jumblat, Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hizbullah, has revealed that his military organization
possesses 12,000 long range missiles that would rain down on cities, settlements, industrial
compounds, military installations and airports across northern Israel if it mounts a large-scale
offensive against Hizbullah. The speech was delivered on Liberation Day before a massive rally in
the South Lebanon town of Bint Jbeil Wednesday, marking the 5th anniversary of Israel's 2000
withdrawal from south Lebanon. The opening speech at he rally was given by Walid Jumblat who
promised to protect and safeguard the resistance, a code word for Hizbullah. Jumblat's speech was
followed by Nasralla's.

The local media noted on Thursday that this was the first time that Nasrallah has publicly
quantified Hizbullah's arsenal after keeping silent for months about Israeli warnings that Iran
had
airlifted thousands of upgraded versions of medium and long range missiles via Syria with which
Hizbullah could hit any target in Israel, including the Dimona nuclear reactor in the Negev
Desert.

"What makes this weapon all the more pulverizing is the fact that Israel has no inkling whatsoever
about the secret bases where the missiles are deployed on Lebanese territory," said Nasrallah,
drawing chants from the crowds of 'Death to Israel." They echoed loud into Jewish settlements on
the
other side of the border from Bint Jbeil.

"This arsenal is the security guarantee for Lebanon against Israel belligerent schemes. The
Missiles
can blast cities, settlements, industries, military installations and airports all over northern
Israel, which is the industrial nerve center of the Jewish state," Nasrallah said.

"The Israelis want to take this power away from Lebanon," Nasrallah told the rally, "but I repeat
again all of the occupied north Palestine, its settlements, airports, seaports, fields, factories
and farms is under the feet and hands of the Islamic resistance."

Nasrallah warned against the 'madness' of even thinking of disarming Hizbullah.

"We are among the biggest proponents of peace, stability and national unity. We don't seek to
attack
anyone and we will not allow anyone to attack Lebanon. But, listen to me, if anyone thinks --
anyone -- of disarming the resistance, we would fight them unto death."

"We will consider any hand that tries to get to our weapons an Israeli hand and we will chop it
off," Nasrallah said, rejecting the clauses in U.N. resolution 1559 that call for disarming the
Party of God and Palestinian militias operating on Lebanese territory.

"But if all in Lebanon share the concept that Hizbullah's weapons are a domestic Lebanese matter
that can be handled only by Lebanese dialogue, we will be responsive," Nasrallah asserted.
