Object: Way OT: Indie Music sale
Just wanted to let you all know that CDBaby.com is having a sale on
"selected" CDs, if you're interested in indie music. If you buy 3 or more
(from the "selected" ones), they're $5 each. (Shopping cart displays the
normal price until after you've selected your 3rd one, then they all drop
down to $5).
I don't know how often they have these kinds of sales, so thought I'd pass
the word along. (And doing my part to direct people away from RIAA
outlets - cdbaby.com only sells indie stuff)
I got a pipe band CD, some folk, African vocals, rock, and some Indian
stuff (as in from India - for Native American, I usually buy from
soundofamerica.com). I wouldn't go so far as to say that I went hog wild,
but I did buy more than I normally would have (can't pass up a good
bargain if it's something I'd want to buy even if it wasn't on sale
;-). Lots of good stuff. I've purchased from them a couple of times before
and found them to be reliable.
BTW, if anyone knows a reliable site for decent Indian (classical to
pop), Chinese (classical), or j-pop, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Yep, you can count on CDBaby to deliver. They've done so much good for
indie artists. This is a business that has employees who really care about
the product they sell, and the people they serve. The artists, for the
most, are virtually unknown except in localized markets. CDBaby gives them
global exposure, and handles their accounts quite efficiently, reliably.
Doc :))~

I often hear music etc given a sub-title, and this one, 'Indie' has
been bothering me Woodsy. What does it mean?
I'm fond of a rather silly Japanese Televison programme about a Monkey
God, a Pig God and a Fish God who are on 'a Journey as long as life
itself'.
The programme is called 'Monkey Magic'.
The lead-in and concluding songs might fit your ethnic needs in music.
If you have nothing to do, then you could even watch a full episode of
Monkey magic in four parts on YouTube.

OMG, that looks like a great show - lol! I have GOT to get some whole
episodes!
I did some looking around, and it's not, nor has it ever been,
available in the U.S. What really sucks is that I can't order it from
amazon.co.uk, or get it from anyone on UK's ebay, because we're Region 1,
and nobody else is.
Guess I'll have to, um, give up. >_>;;
