You were lied to, about the WMD. And Bush Jr. and Sr. didn't
seem to have any problems with Saddam killing his own
people. In fact, when Saddam was running has rape and
torture camps, and gassing the Kurds, Bush Sr. sent over
Donald Rumsfeld to meet with Saddam to cut some juicy
deals to build hardened command posts, hardened
aircraft hangers, hardened bunkers for his top leaders.
Rumsfeld even threw in some biowarfare agents and
plenty of chemcial warfare weapons for extra measure.
I know about the above, because I helped deliver.
So the hypocrisy about "democracy" and "WMD" and
"saving the Iraqi people" stinks to high heaven.
Here is the REAL reason the Iron Triangle ...oops, I mean
George W. Bush, invaded Iraq:
1. Saddam was no longe useful. He had been used as a
proxy to attack and try to oust the Ayatollah's in Iran, and
failed. At least he kept them suppressed for 10 years, and
killed 1 million Iranians, mostly teenage boys, in the swamps
of eastern Iraq, and hundreds of thousands of civilians in
Iranian cities of Khorramshahr and Abadan.
2. They used Saddam as a patsy. The US ambassador to
Iraq (Gillespie) in 1990 told Saddam the US had no
problem with Saddam invading Kuwait, as long as he
"didn't take all of it."
Iraq had been provoked into the war, when Kuwait reneged
on a payment of $26 billion to Iraq, which Kuwait said they
would pay to help defer Iraq's costs in the war with Iran,
as a "mutual security" deal.
Kuwait also slant drilled into Iraq's Ramallah oil field, the
largest in the country.
3. To establish in Iraq, more military bases from which to flex U.S.
muscle with Syria and Iran and better position for the inevitable fall
of the regional sheikdoms.
4. To line the pockets of the Iron Triangle, namely the
Pentagon, individual flag-level officers who transition
into private business. Halliburton, Bechtel, and other
contractors to rebuild the infrastructure that the US
destroyed over a period of 13 years.
5. To maintain OPEC on a dollar track, which was leaning towards
going to the EURO, which would have caused a collapse of the
US dollar.
6. Neo-Conservative Ideology, which is fanatically Pro-Israel.
The Media could have easily told you the above, it's obvious
by now, as the lies uncoil from the the White House's propaganda
front.
But the Media is beholden to the CIA and the White House,
for many reasons, included access to information and funding
and political lobbying for laws and regulations favorable to
the major media.
America, you were screwed.
