Lets pose a hypothetical situatuation. Suppose a country that is the most
heavily armed on earth faces a predetermined set of calamitous scenarios
that would bring about massive civil unrest and possibly even lead to a
civil war. Suppose these scenarios were a bankruptcy of the nation, an
economic collapse, massive unemployment, a breakdown in infrastructure, law
and order etc., etc. A pre-determined event that would make the masses
rally around the flag and gleefully 'come to the party' and embrace every
new regulation, act and order could bring this about. This event could be a
'Pearl Harbor". An atmosphere of constant fear could be used to control the
masses and have citizen spying on and keeping tabs on every other citizen.
A scenario such as this has a place in past history. Hyperinflation,
economic collapse, operation hummingbird, fascism, a fuehrer, Gestapo,
propaganda ministerum, heimat schutz (homeland security) Hmmmmmm?
Those that ignore history are bound to repeat it.

I think the USA is going through the above, with the exception
of hyperinflation, but as soon as the USA defaults on its
national debt, hyperinflation is sure to follow.
