- Israel is preparing for a takeover in Lebanon
I don't buy that at all.
Israel is going to find, kill or capture, as many of the hezbolla
as they can in a short time-frame (a few weeks), and destroy
as much of the hezbolla infrastructure (bunkers, tunnels, rockets,
and launchers) as they can in that time-frame, then broker a
deal with the Western Governments for bringing peace-keepers
into Lebanon to patrol, say, a 50 mile swatch of land just north
of Israel.
Iran's desire for a large-scale war involving Israel and the
West will die with the hezbolla in Lebanon.
- Diplomatic activities create time to prepare this approach
- If Israel does not occupy Lebanon, Hezbollah has won this round.
- Saudi Arabia is preparing
- Iran is preparing
- Syria is not preparing (yet)
- Turkey will go into norther Iraq and will be potected by the US in the
security council.
- NATO will end up in the crossfire if sent to Lebanon
