What's So Great About an America That Can't Face Its Problems? |
Can anyone tell me what is "great" about a nation whose Congress and
people cannot, or will not, stop, punish, or remove leaders from high
office who continue a war that a majority want stopped?
Can anyone tell me what is "great" about a nation whose top leaders badly
bungled a major disaster relief operation and help cause many more deaths
but has resulted in just one high office dismissal, while the rest of the
principals continue in their offices?
Can anyone tell me what is "great" about a nation whose intelligence
operations were wrong about the motivating reason to justify massive
warfare that's resulted in many thousands of casualties, and not one intel
official or worker has been relieved of their job (except the CIA head
retired), publicly reprimanded, or sent to court for negligence, or any
other reason?
Can anyone tell me what is "great" about a nation whose top leaders ignore
a review court for wiretap authority for years -- and then, under
increasing criticism, announce they'll start using the court, and that
such a violation of the privacy rights of individuals (reflecting the
arrogance or self-righteousness of leaders) hasn't resulted in the removal
of those leaders?
None of these major problems could be construed as being the behaviour of
a "great" nation, without mutilating the term, 'credulity.'
Anyone who makes glowing "blanket statements" of "greatness" about a
nation that engages in such disregard for human life, privacy rights, and
the suffering it causes, from the top of the heirarchy, and simply
criticizes and cracks jokes, is a nation whose people have, for the most
part, become indifferent, complacent, and emotionally dysfunctional.
These are not the hallmarks of a great people or a great government. If
these were the only four glaring hits in the side of the USS America, it
would sink morally if nothing is changed. However, America's ship is
plagued with many more major problems than these.
Those who say that knowing what the bad problems are is a step in
resolving them...YES, that is correct ONLY IF they move to take those
steps in a timely manner, and with all their resolve and resources put to
use to resolve the problems.
That is not what we're are mostly seeing with these four tremendous
problems. Instead, we get more arguments, useless legislation, and
pus-headed, pissed-off reactions to those courageous enough to point these
things out, and lots of brainless pep-rally statements to counter
them...feel-good denials, obfuscation, fantasy making.
If anyone thinks this kind of coldfish disassociative behaviour represents
'greatness' in any shape or form then we must redefine the fucking term.

None, how many did YOU get? I'm not running for anything. I'm pointing out
what many Americans already know to be the truth. If you can't face up to
what's wrong, then roll around in it and do nothing.
Either care about injustice or take a take a crap on it by not caring. And
that's how democracy and freedom works for the individual. You can
exercise your rights and protest, and attempt to change what's wrong, or
accept it 'as is.'

So you got zero... Kinda what I thought.
So, Ms. Fonda, do you think your rants will be more effective in the 21st
century?
Dee-dee-dee!

Dee-dee-dee!
More effective than your social skills, debating ability, and rationality
are, yes. Ann Coulter will be in prison soon after they find out she's a
pedophile-cannibal.
And diddleheads like you will be in rehab centers muttering to the nurses,
"Hey baby, I wanna' check your oil."
Wopa-boo-abob....
