The USA is dependent on foreign oil.
Liar Bush led Americans to believe that drilling in Alaska would magically change
this dependence on foreign oil. It will not.
Nevertheless, some Americans are under the illusion that Alaska can supply
the USA with oil for the rest of their lifetime. This is nonesense.
There is only enough Alaskan oil to fuel the US vehicle fleet for a mere 6 months.
Alternatively, it could supply US industrial, commercial, residential,
and power generation needs for 17 months
6 months or 17 months.
America is oil-poor.
When it comes to oil, America is a ragged-arsed nation.
So let there be no more illusions about oil wealth in Alaska.
If the USA were not hooked on oil [SUV owners take special note],
US foreign policy would have been freed-up and the US military
would not have been forced to disgrace and dishonor themselves
by becoming international oil bandits.
