Turi's pathetic behaviour would have us believe that he is capable of
predicting anything. Turi posts vague prognostications, couched in
vague crap "poetry", then picks any disaster that he wants to fit. I
note with chagrin, that this ghoul glossed over the various other
disasters, such as the cyclone that tore through the Solomons, and
several other bad weather conditions, and jumped up and down, flapping
his arms about to scream to the world "I'm the greatest astrologer
alive!"
Well, here's the facts for a ghoul like Turdi:
Bad weather and natural disasters happen all the time.
Australia is an "incendiary climate", we get bushfires all the time,
and I have had colleagues and friends fighting this years batch for
weeks.
I have colleagues and friends who in the past emergency in Canberra,
without concern for their own safety, saved others, strangers as well
as friends, saved property, and saved pets.
I have colleagues and friends, who in the past emergency, worked 48
hours straight tending burn victims, others who were manning fire
trucks, manning hoses, and helping.
A 77 year old woman died in her home because she went back for her
only companion,m her dog.
3 others have died, and many burns victims have been transferred to
burns units.
LIke most countries, when there is a disaster, we pitch in and help
each other.
Then we have Turi, his only reaction is "Look at me!!, there was a
disaster, and I predicted it!, Aren't I a great Astrologer???"
He does this so is pathetically credulous, willfully ignorant rubes
will think more highly of him, and give him more money.
He does this so his life can have meaning.
He does this to draw attention to himself.
The suffering, and loss does not concern Turi, because his first
reaction is "look at me, look at me" People who die, people who
suffer are merely pawns and incidental to Turi being able to jump up
and down in a pathetic attempt to draw attention to himself.
My friends and colleagues, and the AMERICAN HELICOPTER PILOTS who came
here to fly the big tankers, and DO IT EVERY YEAR (for which I am
immensely grateful), don't jump up and down and say "look at me, I'm a
hero!", they just get on with the job.
The efforts of my colleagues and friends will be remembered.
Turi will be confined to the dustbin of history.
It's at times like this I wish there *were* a hell, so people just
like Turi could end up there.

Which is sad. Life has more meaning to those firefighters than anything Turi
ever does will mean to himself. To the firefighters they are fighting a war
against a deadly enemy; life has a lot of meaning to you when you're doing that.
Your life is serving a great and worthy purpose.

Impossible not to. They come out here and save our necks, often when some dumb@$$
or attention grabber like Quacki gets us into this mess. They never ask for much in return,
just the supplies and help they need to enable them to do their jobs. They're heroes whom
we should be giving parades and honors to but they don't do that, they're off to the next
battle in their war. Selfless is a sure word that describes them.
Turi will be confined to the dustbin of history.
It's at times like this I wish there *were* a hell, so people just
like Turi could end up there.
Being in the dustbin of history having made little difference to the world with
nobody remembering you is a punishment unto itself. All his own doing.
