Once upon a time, when Peter Lemesurier decided to provide this
NewsGroup with his FAQ, the enciphered nature of Nostradamus'
poetry was mentioned here. Note the date: January 6, 1997.

: Interesting post, Claude. Much better than your usual rant about how
: the prophecies *must* be read in the original text.
But my usual rant produced some result: now some posters know that
NOSTRADAMUS DID NOT WRITE IN ENGLISH!

Hum! The word 'theory' makes me smile... because, if indeed I hit the
jackpot, this is no theory... it is a fact.
: Specifically, why do you think that
: the prophecies cover a 460-year period, what kind of code Nosty used,
: and how did you break it?
Three questions in one! Ok, let's give answers:
1. Why do I think the prophecies cover a 460-year period?
Answer: Because it covers the period between the Full Moon of
March 14, 1557, and the period covered by the Full Moon of
August 7, 2017, a little more than 460 years.
2. What kind of code Nosty used?
Answer: Cryptic anagrams.
3. How did I break it?
Answer: By accident. I was not looking for that (as I thought that
if there were a code, someone before me would have found it), and
I found it. Three years after, I am still making interesting
discoveries.
Thanks for your questions.

This now silent Doug Taylor provided this NewsGroup with a very
useful collection of predictions made here and confronted them
with reality when the time for the accomplishment of these
predictions would have passed. You might search the archives for
posts titled THIS WEEK IN PROPHECYLAND, as they form the bulk of
Doug's contribution to this NewsGroup.

Have a nice day, folks!
