straight shooter, and that's fine. But he has zero chance of getting
the Republican nomination. And if you think Democrats will vote for
him, you failed to understand what I told you about his stand on some

* He's pro-life (anti-abortion rights), pro-gun ownership rights
* He voted no on a bill that would have given stockholders the right
to vote on corporate executive compensation
* He voted no on a bill that would have raised automobile fuel economy
standards
* He supported the Minuteman Project on the Mexican border
* He voted no on a bill to raise the minimum wage
* He favors Bush's tax cuts
* He wants to abolish all federal welfare.

very important issues -- such as:
* He's pro-life (anti-abortion rights),
Yes, he is, but I'm hoping this won't be a deal-breaker for democrats
in the light of the war and economy. And even in this,
he basically says that it is a States rights issue--not
a federal issue. Politically, he isn't saying that he would
make abortion illegal, just that he would take it out
of the Federal Government's hands and give it back
to the States.
pro-gun ownership rights
Ditto here. I'm pro-gun ownership rights as well btw. In fact, I'd
go so far as
to say that gun ownership is no longer sufficient as a deterent to
tyranny
(because of surveillance and organization of law enforcement). I'd
say
we need more control on Police and corporations. Also, I'd say we
need a fourth branch of government--the financial branch, that would
take
over the responsibilities of the Treasury Dept. and the Fed. Power is
becoming
too centralized--too unquestionable.
* He voted no on a bill that would have given stockholders the right
to vote on corporate executive compensation
Not familiar with this one. Would like to hear his reasoning...I'm
certain
that the bill included more than that one issue.
* He voted no on a bill that would have raised automobile fuel economy
standards
Ditto...what else was in the bill or how was it to be enacted?
* He supported the Minuteman Project on the Mexican border
Many, in fact most, of my liberal friends understand the need to
protect our borders. This is in opposition to Bush's stance.
* He favors Bush's tax cuts
He favors disbanding the IRS! But he conditions this by saying
that this is only possible if we cease spending trillions of dollars
on aggressive military foreign policy. In other words, tax cuts are
fine, but only if they
correspond to spending decreases--as opposed to Bush
spending 1.3 trillion while at the same time cutting taxes.
* He wants to abolish all federal welfare.
I haven't seen his stance on this, but it is not a major point
in his campaign. It would be consistant with his small
government stance though.
If you think many Democrats are going to vote for all of that, you
don't know what you're talking about
Eric was all for him. Eric would fall squarely
in the Demo camp, if not the Green Party. Ron Paul is the
only candidate criticizing the legislative acts that have resticted
personal freedoms. He's the only true "Republican." The rest
are Neo-Cons--basically globalist socialist/fascists. They are
poison. Hillary is one of them. She's getting support from
the same people who support Bush--Fox News and the
military industrial complex. She's part of the problem, not the
solution.
So, you have to look at the whole picture, not small issues
that really aren't that important and that Ron Paul won't
have the public mandate to change (Roe v. Wade). To
my knowledge, he is the only candidate saying that
we should bring our troops home now, and who gives
good idealogical and practical reasons for doing so.

getting

Yeah, he might actually be an opposition candidate (we haven't had one

Build Paul up. Get him as much support and exposure as possible. Get

Get this country moving away from the current, spineless 1 party

supporters who are losing their houses.. really I do.. just think, if you

[quoting] Solid Job Gains, Wage Growth in Nov.
By JEANNINE AVERSA
The Associated Press
Friday, December 7, 2007; 9:09 AM
WASHINGTON -- Employers added a solid 94,000 jobs to their payrolls in
November, the unemployment rate held steady at 4.7 percent and wages
grew briskly, encouraging signs the nation's employment climate is
holding up in the face of turbulence in the housing and credit
markets.
The fresh snapshot of the labor market, released by the Labor
Department on Friday, showed that hiring was brisk in education and
health services, retail, professional services, the government and
elsewhere. That helped to offset job losses in construction,
manufacturing and financial services -- casualties of the housing
slump and credit crunch.
The 94,000 new jobs in November came after a surprisingly strong
payroll gain of 170,000 in October. The unemployment rate stayed at a
relatively low 4.7 percent for the third straight month.
"This is reassuring. The pillar continuing to support the economy is
job creation," said Carl Tannenbaum, chief economist at LaSalle Bank.
"This should provide reassurance to those who worry that a recession
is imminent," he said. [end excerpt]

They'll call everyone that voted for Paul a terrorist.
Build Paul up. Get him as much support and exposure as possible.
Get his ideas discussed.
I'm trying to get his ideas discussed. Who else has posted as many
of his ideas as I have?
All hail the stephen for his great and profound vision. Have you lost

The article says nothing of the kind, liar. But keep hoping for the
worst. It's what fringe leftists are best at.

from the Republican side:
NONE....except Ron Paul....and you know it, Stevie.
I do? What I know is that Ron Paul has zero chance of becoming the
Republican nominee. These are Republican primaries, and most
Republicans just don't agree with Ron Paul. That's the fact, whatever
you'd like to believe.
I'd say he has about 4.3 million reasons that he thinks he might just
have a chance.
He's currently in single digits in all the polls. He doesn't have a
chance.
He appeals to both sides of the spectrum. And his
message regarding Iraq is unique and right on target. December 16th
will tell a lot about how much of a chance he has.
from the Democratic side:
It sure as hell isn't Hillary...not any more than her lying
sackofshit, ***** husband.
Let's face it...if you tell the truth, you're NUTS!!!! according to
the media....like Ron Paul, and Kucinich.
Kucinich doesn't have a chance either. You're highlighting the two
extremes, while ignoring the more centrist candidates of both parties.
You're sounding just as extreme as you always do.
They aren't extremes at all. Ron Paul isn't some Pat Buchanan.
Actually, he's a lot like Pat Buchanan.
He's getting
support from both parties because his approach is unique. He takes
into account the view of the founders which includes government
limited
by branches to prevent a dictator, and personal liberties. With
Congress passing laws like the Patriot Act, Patriot Act II and the
Warner Act, Ron Paul makes a whole lot of sense--at least a HELLUVA
lot more than any of the other Republican candidates.
That's your opinion, and that's fine.
Really? As if all the Democratic voters are going to vote for a
Republican? What planet do you live on?
Not all, but some. See, all we fence-sitting independents voted Demo
last
election to show dissatisfaction with the occupation of Iraq.
Actually, the exit polling showed the biggest factor for voters who
voted against Republicans was the corruption issue.
Now only one candidate is really saying bring
home the troops. Who you gonna vote for? Billary Robot saying we
need
to be in Iraq for the long haul or a Republican who shows everybody
the reasons for bringing troops home now--reasons that correspond
with the founding fathers views of foreign relations.
Ron Paul in '08
Good luck. He's going to need it.
