IMHO if a Nuke is used by any Arab state or linked organisation and the
US responds in kind, no matter what the target might be, there is a
risk others will seek to take advantage of the precedent that will have
been set, the resultant destabilisation and the US' refocussed

problem solving.
Now let me see - there's the Taiwan issue with China to contemplate,
North and South Korea, India and Pakistan, Southern Phillipines,
Indonesia and it's various islands, including Aceh and West Irian,
Russia and the Chechens, Israel and Syria/Iran, the Ismus of Kra, the
Balkans etc. And then there are the tinpot dictators like Chavez who
will seize 'opportunities' as they are presented.
No, an Islamic bomb detonated on US, UK or European soil will have
far-reaching consequences that will impact way beyond the intended
target areas. The US has enormous power but it can't be everywhere at
once and many nations/entities will seek to take advantage of that.
The alternative is for America to retaliate at selected targets with
immediate massive force and solve it's festering sores once and for
all. And to save the infrastructure FABs will be used. Yes they have
been banned by the UN, but the catch-cry will be - ***** the UN.
