Because Bush had nothing but contempt for France, a country that would dare
stand up to his lies- and refuse to support him whether or not he gained
support from the United Nations or not.
The French told it as it was- that the Americans had no business invading
Iraq- on a pretense of creating freeedom. What a load of ***** that is.
But what goes around comes around, and now the Americans are falling like
flies in Iraq and the ones that survive will come home with radiation
poisoning and other illnesses. Another Vietnam!
I feel sorry for the Americans who are too stupid and patriotic to see
what's going on.

As a percentage of GDP France's deficit has now grown such that it violates
the EU agreements, and they now face billions in fines. France's deficit is
larger (as a percentage of GDP) than the US's.
I guess France will be first to fall? Or fall before the US? Or perhaps
Germany (also carrying a larger deficit as a percentage of GDP than the
US)?
Of course there are those who are impressed by the trillions, billions,
sagans and sagans of $ of deficit, and never consider the comparision
between deficit and the ability of an economy to withstand a deficit.
I do believe that deficit spending is bad, a tax on the living and the
unborn, but that's a different discussion.

This is easy.
9/11 was blamed on Osama Bin Laden.
Osama Bin Laden was in Afghanistan.
The Afghan government did not immediately offer to arrest and hand over
Osama Bin Laden. Had they done so, I'm sure no invasion would have occured.
But!.....Iraq.
Nothing to do with 9/11.
No terrorist connections to Al Qaeda. They were enemies.
No proof of WMDs.
No proof of any threat to anyone.
So 90 countries remain part of the anti-terrorism coalition......but only 2
of those countries, the UK and Australia, were prepared to join the US
invasion of Iraq.
It was clearly shonky from the start.
But not one of those countries would seriously believe the US government was
behind 9/11......even if they were.
