BAGHDAD (Dec. 13)
'IRAQI HITLER'
President Yawar, a Sunni tribal leader occupying a largely figurehead post,
told the BBC the bombers wanted to disrupt the vote: ''Their tactical target is
to undermine the electoral process and to stop us having our first elections.
''This is why we see it is a challenge we have to meet.''
He warned that continued mayhem could see Iraqis yearning for a strong hand:
''This could in the long term create an environment in which an Iraqi Hitler
could emerge like the one created by the defeat of Germany and the humiliation
of Germans in World War One,'' Yawar told Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.
Though few have mourned Saddam's downfall, some Iraqis say his authoritarian
rule overcame ethnic and religious divides.
At least 1,015 U.S. troops have been killed in action since the invasion of
Iraq 21 months ago. In all, 1,290 have died.
Some of Saddam's old lieutenants went on what their lawyers called a hunger
strike Saturday over access to lawyers and fears of being handed over to Iraqis
after the election.
The 67-year-old former president, held separately from his former aides, was
not among those who were refusing some food.
U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Barry Johnson said eight ex-aides of Saddam had refused
breakfast Monday but were taking liquids.
U.S. authorities are not concerned about their health at this point, he said,
declining to name those involved.

No, you do. It says nothing about him returning, it just states a fact.

It shows that some Iraqi's feel that it may take Saddam to restore all of the
division within Iraq. As he beat into their heads for 25 years "I am the only
one who can protect you".

It is. Why do you think his aides have gone on hunger strike in protest at
being handed over to the Iraquis, post-election

Where in the article did you get that from? (full text quoted below)
