A holy war of sorts is heating up in a Detroit suburb, where members of the
local Muslim community want loudspeakers on mosques to announce the Islamic
call to prayer five times each day.
But the idea is running into opposition from other residents of Hamtramck,
Mich., many of whom are Christian, who think the prayer calls as early as 6
a.m. and as late as 10 p.m. would be disruptive.
"When you call to prayer, you are proselytizing, and as a citizen of the United

"It is not my God. My God is Jesus Christ," Caroline Zarski, 81, said. "I don't
want this noise invading my home at 10 p.m."
The Al-Islah Islamic Center asked the city three months ago to alter its noise
ordinance to allow the calls to prayer. In February, the council reportedly
supported the change but sought a public hearing before making any change.
"We don't want to make it a big deal," said businessman Abdul Algazali,
according to the Free Press. "It's a low-pitched voice. It's not going to wake
up anybody."
City Council President Karen Majewski compared the call to prayer to bells
ringing on Christian churches, though other residents were said to disagree at
Tuesday's meeting.
Majewski says the loudspeaker measure is likely to pass at next week's meeting,
and would subsequently take effect in late May.
"Petitions have circulated among mainly white and Christian members of the
community for weeks asking the council not to amend the ordinance," said
Councilman Scott Klein. "Both sides have issued threats of federal lawsuits
based on the constitutionality of the ban or the removal of the ban."
There are five mosques in Hamtramck, and three others just over the border in

Don't they have a noise ordinance that stipulates how often and during what
hours churches may ring their bells? Perhaps if they craft such a law, based on
other communities, they can avoid claims of discrimination. (Also include
lawnmowing and the like).
6AM is ridiculously early for most people on a weekend.

LOL!
Truth to tell, I'd be perfectly willing to be equally "inconsiderate" of any
Christian church with the gall to try to ring bells at 6 am in a populated area.
(Ditto for anyone mowing their lawns!)
'Course, can't do much about tractors plowing their fields at the crack of dawn
on weekends where I am, but then, nobody around here sleeps in, so it's not
disruptive .... ;-)

Certainly is unacceptable anywhere in any Western civilized countries anyway.

Just ask CourtneyLuv, she seems to know a lot about Guernon. In case
you missed it:

When I first found this NG I noticed that one of the frequent contributors was a "Jean Guernon." It really surprised me to find him here. Reading his twisted posts, I realized it truly had to be the same Jean I sexually satisfied through a Montreal-based escort service. He had been one of our clients for the last two years, and often chose me among at least three others--both male and female.
I want to tell you that I've worked in this profession since I was 21. I am now 29, female, and heavily stacked. Jean really likes my huge tits. He is quite fixated on my saline mammaries. He once told me, "I love your tits, they are like my mother's." I am also half Eskimo, half French-Canadian. I speak both dialects. I am a college graduate with a higher than average IQ. .
I want alt.prophecies.nostradamus posters to know some things about Jean they might find quite interesting.
When I began to provide my special talents for Jean to enjoy, which included bondage and golden showers (I pee on his penis while he masturbates), Jean was quite nice and docile. But, as we met more for liasons (at a motel room), he became increasingly abusive. That forced me to terminate our relationship. My employer, as does any escort service I'm familiar with, will not allow physical abuse in the form of back-handed slapping, punching, kicking, etc. I could've reported him to the police, but I'd been legally in trouble as well (not to mention the escort service). So, I told Jean, "no more" and said good bye.
He then threatened to beat me up, telling me, "After I get through with you, you'll have a face no man would find pretty anymore." He flew into a rage and called me every name in the slang dictionary, including "demon fucking dumbshit *****, daughter of fucking Satan," or, "Jezebel of inequity, slutty spawn of the fucking AntiChrist." He would say, "You are not worth my superior nut juice because it is divine and you are filthy and evil." Much of his verbal abuse was colored with strange religious references. I will not say anymore about that aspect. It is very disturbing. Perhaps, NGers here can understand it anyway.
I didn't know Jean was some kind of author until he told me one night that he wrote a book on Nostradamus. I was vaguely familiar with the prophet, having read a few magazine articles. He told me that he was a "gifted, great writer and researcher" (his own words) and (after becoming verbally abusive) that I should lick his ***** while reading some "quatrains" about World War III. I did that with some reservations, and it was quite odd, let me tell you.
He gave me a copy of his book. He then would say, "*****, read this quatrain (whatever number it was, I don't recall), then lick my smooth cute ***** and thank God for the special privilege." Jean would tell me many times he didn't care about people much anymore because we are "all evil and sick" and should be "destroyed by God." I felt he was mentally ill and needed help, but I, of course, said nothing. Some of my clients have severe psychological problems. It's just part of the profession. I generally accept it, but his case was exceptional.
If you think this post is phony, I wouldn't blame you. But, I assure you I am telling the truth. Jean, in my opinion, is a suicidal drugged or drunken man, quite depressed and full of hostility towards people. He snorts coke, drinks heavily. He sometimes has nose bleeds. He may, in fact, be dangerous if he doesn't seek professional help. I feel somewhat sorry for him at times.
Jean told me the world would soon face a great holy war and he expected to be delivered from it before it came. He said God thought he was quite special and deserved saving, and that most human beings shouldn't be spared a horrible death. In fact, he would tell me that humans are "freaks of the Universe" and needed to be cleansed in some way of their "filthiness, lies, and ugiliness."
I have much more to say, but I will let it go unsaid at this point. But, suffice to say, Jean was one of my most unusual clients and was very scary towards the end of our relationship. He knows who I am and that I am not lying, but he will of course deny all of what I have said here. I expect he will try to "get even" with me, and I do fear for my safety. I have taken precautionary measures to try to keep him from finding me. I have just quit the Montreal escort service and moved. Yet, I felt it is important for NGers here to understand some of his tormented hidden life. It might shed light on his hostile attitude and other character traits so prevalent in his postings. Sorry, Jean, but you angered me and abused me, and "Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn." You asked for it and now you've gotten (some) of it. You can't keep hurting, threatening, abusing people without bad consequences. Get help, Jean.

Will you wake up to Islamic prayer call?
U.S. Muslims liken loudspeakers on mosques to church bells

Posted: April 15, 2004

2004 WorldNetDaily.com
A holy war of sorts is heating up in a Detroit suburb, where members
of the
local Muslim community want loudspeakers on mosques to announce the
Islamic
call to prayer five times each day.
But the idea is running into opposition from other residents of
Hamtramck,
Mich., many of whom are Christian, who think the prayer calls as early
as 6
a.m. and as late as 10 p.m. would be disruptive.
"When you call to prayer, you are proselytizing, and as a citizen of
the United
States I don't want to hear it," Bob Golen, 68, told the Detroit Free
Press.
"It is not my God. My God is Jesus Christ," Caroline Zarski, 81, said.
"I don't
want this noise invading my home at 10 p.m."
The Al-Islah Islamic Center asked the city three months ago to alter
its noise
ordinance to allow the calls to prayer. In February, the council
reportedly
supported the change but sought a public hearing before making any
change.
"We don't want to make it a big deal," said businessman Abdul Algazali,
according to the Free Press. "It's a low-pitched voice. It's not going
to wake
up anybody."
City Council President Karen Majewski compared the call to prayer to
bells
ringing on Christian churches, though other residents were said to
disagree at
Tuesday's meeting.
Majewski says the loudspeaker measure is likely to pass at next week's
meeting,
and would subsequently take effect in late May.
"Petitions have circulated among mainly white and Christian members of
the
community for weeks asking the council not to amend the ordinance," said
Councilman Scott Klein. "Both sides have issued threats of federal
lawsuits
based on the constitutionality of the ban or the removal of the ban."
There are five mosques in Hamtramck, and three others just over the
border in
Detroit.
On its website, the city says it provides "A Touch of THE WORLD In
America,"
touting itself as "the home of the most varied ethnic mix of people
and customs
from around the world."
