Oohh.. you've missed a treat then. Early/mid 80's if my porous memory serves
me right ( I was about 11 I think), quite faithful to the books (though
typically scenes occur in a different order, as they did in the radio show)

Oh, the early 80's - No wonder I missed it!
Just out of high school, I was busy having LOTS-o-FUN then. :)

Well, I always liked how Quentin Tarantino does the out of sequence
scenes in his movies. It keeps you from figuring things out early and
then they all connect and make sense in the end.
And not having seen the series, this may have NOTHING to do with what
you are talking about. :)

Most likely the movie won't do it justice. But I'll still likely go see
it anyways.
The copy I have is a single 5 part trilogy.

Yeah, that's how it usually is.
The copy I have is a single 5 part trilogy.
I checked out the first one and the second one "The Restaurant At The
End of the Universe" from the library.
I thought I was going to get in 4 hours of serious reading today at
"Traffic Ticket School". There was just 4 of us in there and we had to
introduce our selves and tell why we were there. I said Look, I know how
to drive safely and I know all the material in the books already. I was
just a victim of circumstance, in the wrong place at the wrong time and
ended up with this speeding ticket, so if you don't mind, I'll just be
doing some reading in here today. Well, needless to say.......things
didn't work out that way as he had *other* ideas how my class time was
to be spent. WASN'T reading Doug Adams either! :-P
I *now* know what the Ford Prefect link was about now that you posted a
while back! ;)

That's sort of like telling everyone at the AA meeting that
you're not really an alcoholic, that you're just there to
observe. Everyone says 'uh-huh' sure you're not an alcoholic,
then they pick on you more than they otherwise would have.

I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM!!!
It was entrapment, I tell you!
Here is the setting:
A two lane road at 10am. There is virtually NO TRAFFIC. The speed limit
is 35mph and there is an overpass. As you travel over the overpass, you
must ride your brake all the way down because there are state troopers
with a radar gun standing at the bottom just waiting for persons like
myself who simply let their mind wander for a moment and FORGOT to ride
the brake down. SEE?
It's a money racket. A fundraiser event for the county, if you will.
I haven't had a ticket in over 20 years and I elected to take this
course to keep points off my record and maintain my SAFE DRIVER status
on my driver's license.
I tried to schedule my class at COMEDY TRAFFIC SCHOOL....but they were
all filled up!
You think I'm kidding? ;)

The Bible - The Movie?
Sounds like something that Mel Gibson would do, doesn't it? :-)

Reads like an amalgamation of white-power supremacist sites, albeit
watered down, right-wing nationalist sites and end-time christian
doomwatch sites.
