Malaysia 'sorry' over Jew remarks

Struggling to reign in a surge of international outrage over Prime
Minister Mahathir Mohamad's assertion that Jews "rule the world",
Malaysia's foreign minister apologizes for any misunderstanding caused
by the comments.

"Please forget about anti-Semitism," Syed Hamid Albar said. "The PM's
message is to stop violence ... People may not be very happy but this
is the reality: the Jews are very powerful."
