Palestinian Authority Newspaper Says Jews Behind Global 'Evil'

Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - In an article reminiscent of the anti-Semitic
blood libels issued in Czarist Russia, the leading Palestinian
Authority-controlled newspaper, Al Hayat Al Jadida, last week accused
the Jews of being behind most of the violence and evil in the world.
In the article, which was translated by Israel's Palestinian Media
Watch (PMW), author Muhammad Khalifa of the Zayed Centre for
Coordination and Follow-Up in the United Arab Emirates insisted that
the Jews conspiratorially control the global stock market and are
plotting a third world war as they seek global domination.
"There is one global stock market situated in New York, and it is
controlled by Jews... In order for this idea to be realized, it was
necessary to initiate wars, because wars are a customary (practice) of
the Jews... as they did in the first and second World Wars," wrote
Khalifa.
He concludes that "the role of the Jews in fanning the flames of evil,
and fuelling the fire, and provoking wars - such as the war against
Iraq - will inevitably cause the downfall of the American military
power," marking the beginning of World War III.
Speaking to Ynet, PMW Director Itamar Marcus called the article "pure
classical anti-Semitism, and a perfect example of the type of
incitement to hatred that is regular" in the mainstream Palestinian
media.
Marcus warned that "when you're pumping out pure hatred, you're
guaranteeing that at some point it's going to explode in violence, and
that's what we're seeing now" in the ongoing violence between Israel
and the Palestinians.
Marcus also pointed out that the "vicious anti-Semitic article"
appeared not in a Hamas publication, but in a newspaper controlled by
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement.
