I'm sure she knows full well what you were attempting to do, Tony.
I'm sure she read my post, knows I wasn't trying to drive in the
"midst of a blizzard" etc.. you just can't accept that we all think
you're an idiot, can you?
Rather, you try to mask Shirley's dig at you under the pretense that
she doesn't know what you're referring to.
Oh she knows quite well, hun.

Yes you were Dippy, you were freaking out because you didn't have any
cigarettes and weren't thinking clearly, that's quite obvious by your original
post.
And once again as I have done in the past, I made fun of you because you seem
to think this is a forum for you to come on and discuss your personal life and
every stupid thing that happens in it.

Wait a second - how does "trying to drive in a blizzard" (which I
wasn't; the blizzard was OVER, moron.. I said I went outside to try
and find my car and I fell) - how does that equate to me "freaking out
because (I) didn't have any cigarettes"?
When did I ever say I was trying to drive in the middle of a blizzard,
ha? Find it. Really, substantiate your claim - go find where I said
I was going to drive in the middle of a blizzard.
And once again as I have done in the past, I made fun of you
You didn't make fun of me - you made fun of you. Once again your lame

Tony - people have shared so much here that I know the color
of some of their eyes. I've seen their pets; I know how they take
their coffee...I know their height weight age and skin color (and no,
*not* just Susan's..) etc.. etc.. etc..
It is NOT only me. This group seems very different from others I've
lurked on a few times - we're a lot closer here.
Did your bath tub overflow again?
It was my basement, idiot. Are you still roughing it on the tough
streets of Jersey? Are you still going into the ring with world-class

Ha Ha! Good one, Tom. He seems quite money driven, so if the woman
wanted oral sex but didn't want that piece of plastic over her
clitoris (not quite sure if I'm correct there, I saw that on Howard
Stern once - Jenna Jameson the porn star who "does it" with both men
and women was talking about something that they put over the vagina
area when giving oral sex..)
So, he'd probably forget about the protection if the woman $paid more
for her "Italian Stallion" to give the ultimate satisfaction (eeewwww!
Just thinking about it with *him* is grossing me out).
He certainly isn't the brightest bulb as he shows us all here daily,

<yawn> ..how many years will you repeat this tired lie, Tone? Really.
As I've told you before - you only hurt yourself when you pull
ridiculous shyte like this. And what is it with you and email? You
said Jean was sending you homosexual email a couple years back.
Of course you were unable to produce any homosexual emails from him,
or any sexy (lol) emails from me because they didn't exist.
Hey, maybe they're with the WMD's in Iraq!?! LOL!
And why do you insist on digging your own grave time and time again?
You know I'll bring up Slimey Sonny Slingshot emailing me (which you
lied about and denied for years) - but now, you admit that you were
lying for years when you mention email correspondence between you
and I. Whatever.. If you insist on kicking your own *arse* (screw ya,
I'll talk how I want to talk; I'm not "trying to be European" when I
say arse) ..then have at it - saves me time.
Now listen.. you showed improvement with Woods which shocked me;
but, it also showed that you have it in you to be decent when you want
to be. So you have it in you. Try to keep it up.. you'll be amazed
at how different you're treated here (unless you enjoy being disliked
by everyone that is).
Anyway - keep it up.

I don't recall posting 2 different answers. As to whether it's a "sinch"
(sic) to drive in a blizzard, that really depends on the blizzard, the
number of cars on the road, and the road crews. It's definitely doable,
however - everyone I know has driven during at least one blizzard.

Sometimes you have to! I remember one about 10 years ago. I was working
nights and, of course, GM would not let the shift out early. By the time we
left, we had to push each other out of our parking spaces! The main
highways home were bad and it took a lot longer, but the sidestreet I lived
on hadn't been plowed. I managed to get my car into the driveway, but my
neighbor on the same shift got his stuck in the street (I had fun teasing
him about superior women drivers :)!) My father went through a worse one in
Quebec where by the time nightshift ended, the cars were buried! He spent
all night on his skidoo taking people home (this was in the 70s).
Anyway, it is obviously best to avoid driving in those conditions, but it
beats spending the night in a factory! I am not even nervous in snow, as I
learned to drive in winter. An ice storm is the worst and I will change
plans in those situations!

Oh, sorry - thought I'd mentioned it before. I got a nasty whack on the
head falling on ice a couple of months ago, while curling (read:
shuffleboard on ice). The only thing I noticed at the time was being
dizzy, but it ended up that I was a whole lot more messed up than that.
Long story short, driving at night was still too much for me to 'figure
out' until about a week. (2 weeks ago I got lost only a mile from my
house, which in my area is around the corner).
Anyway, I didn't realize that I couldn't handle driving at night yet when
we were on our way down to Mississippi, and my husband asked if I was okay
to drive (it was 6 am and still dark out). Sure, no problem at all! (sez
I). So, I hope behind the wheel and off we go - for about a mile on the
interstate, and I can't figure out where the car is supposed to go or how
to get it to go there. I knew right away that was not a Good Thing, so I
tell my husband that I'm really having problems and can't drive. Sez he
"There's a rest area in 40 miles". As if! I got off at the next exit, and
that was the end of any attempts to drive at night for 4 weeks.
I was pretty messed up, from what my family tells me. I have no
recollection of it, but they claim I was doing stuff like having a
conversation, then just stop talking in the middle of a sentence with no
recollection of the conversation, or repeating the same thing 3 times in a
5 minute conversation. I didn't notice anything (besides the driving at
night) until 2 weeks ago when I noticed that I couldn't add 2 numbers
without a piece of paper to write it down on and realized that wasn't
normal - which I guess means I'm a whole lot better because I was
supposedly doing lots of stuff like that and it all seemed completely
normal.
Now the other half is insisting on side airbags on our next car. Guess I
freaked him out just a little bit. (Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Woods
was experiencing all the benefits of riding the Tilt-a-whirl without
having to pay for the ride!)
Oh, and my sixteen-year-old thinks it's a hoot to call me brain damaged. ;-)

Sounds like you suffered from a pretty bad concussion.
Have you had an MRI or CAT Scan done? If not you should, don't want to

blood clot.

Good point. I sustained a head injury when I was hit by a car at age 16.
My MD had my brain checked out 6 ways to Sunday (no MRIs back then, though).
(I remember the EEG...had to go downtown Montreal on bus and subway with my
mother (she would not drive in the city). The electrodes were glued to my
scalp and they had to remove the glue with acetone. I was mortified having
to travel home with my hair in that state!) Nothing showed up...however, my
parents date my OCD-tendencies to that accident.

Oh, sorry - thought I'd mentioned it before. I got a nasty whack on the

shuffleboard on ice). The only thing I noticed at the time was being
dizzy, but it ended up that I was a whole lot more messed up than that.
Long story short, driving at night was still too much for me to 'figure

interstate, and I can't figure out where the car is supposed to go or how
to get it to go there. I knew right away that was not a Good Thing, so I
tell my husband that I'm really having problems and can't drive. Sez he

and
that was the end of any attempts to drive at night for 4 weeks.
I was pretty messed up, from what my family tells me. I have no
recollection of it, but they claim I was doing stuff like having a
conversation, then just stop talking in the middle of a sentence with no
recollection of the conversation, or repeating the same thing 3 times in
a
5 minute conversation.

Sounds like you suffered from a pretty bad concussion.
Have you had an MRI or CAT Scan done? If not you should, don't want to
scare you but with such a blow there is always the possibility of a
blood clot.
I don't see any mention of you getting this checked out, it's not
something to be ignored and hope that it gets better.
Tony

Thanks, all - but that was 2 months ago. I was taken immediately to the
ER via ambulance, because I couldn't sit up without help, even after lying
there for 15 minutes. They did a CT scan there. The attending physician
and radiologist pronounced me "clean". As far as I was concerned, that
meant there was absolutely nothing wrong, so I staggered (literally) into
work the whole next week. LOL!
It wasn't until I was getting the staples out that my doctor said that
they don't give CT scans unless they think there's a possibility of
something. Who knew? (That's also the first time my husband mentioned that
my pupils were dilated when I was flat on my back - that would have
freaked me if I'd known before the Dr. said I was okay). Anyway, she said
that if there was no improvement, see a neurologist, and I've improved
greatly. Um ... not that I noticed anything was really amiss until after I
started improving. *cough* But, as much as it was a fun time to be on a
constant, dizzying, roller-coaster ride <g>, I have no desire to repeat
the experience so am extra cautious on ice now and plan to get a hockey
helmet and gripper shoes for when I go back out on the ice.
I have to confess, it's really humiliating to have whacked myself that bad
playing what amounts to shuffleboard. Sheesh! 9_9

Thank you, Tony - that's very sweet of you, and I really appreciate your

Yes, I was all checked out at the time, and the CT scan came up clean.
My physician said I'd had a slight concussion, but that may have been
based on my telling her that I wasn't having any of the problems she
listed out (I was not a good source for that particular info) - I'm not
really sure how they tell degrees of concussions. I thought the ER Dr.
had said I didn't have one, but evidently that was not the case.
According to my husband I was incoherent in the ER, so maybe I
misunderstood the Dr, but I do know that the CT scan was clean.
As much as I find the experience humorous, I'm not fooling around with
it, or taking chances. I've done some research on the net, and found
that a series of mild head injuries can be life threatening (!), so now
I'm walking around on slippery surfaces like I'm 90 years old, and
wouldn't take the stairs for 6 weeks (which I'm sure annoyed the heck
out of people on the elevator who needed floor 6 and had to stop on
floor 2 because of me, but - too bad!).
Anyway, thank you again for your concern and advice - it means a great
deal to me.

You're welcome, I know that you expressed concern when I was sick
a few years ago so I've got a soft spot for you. I apologize for the
insults I've tossed your way.
If you only had that one scan I would suggest getting a follow up,
sometimes things can be missed, or show up later.
As for the dilated pupils, did your husband notice if they were
dilated equally in both eyes? If they were not, this indicates
a fractured skull, I mean I'm sure they took x-rays to check that
but it's always good to double check things like this.

I obviously missed a post or two.
A brain injury is a scary thing. Look at the people who have all out
amnesia and can't remember any of their past. That is hard for me to
even imagine.
Well glad to hear you're doing better. A friend of mine is still having
short term memory problems and it has been more than a year since she
had a mild concussion.
She will do things like sending me almost identical emails because she
didn't remember sending the first one in the same day. NOT GOOD!
