I used to be a regular lurker here many moons ago and I recently came across
the now infamous series of Xinoehpoel posts quite recently
(http://www.cassiopaea.org/cass/terror.htm) which I had not read until now
which I found to be rather intriguing. I thought his interpretations of
Quatrains X-72 and X-74 to be quite interesting whereby he ties X-72 and
X-74 to 2006 and 2008.
Having been out of the loop since 2000 when I lost interest in good old
Nostro and not being a French speaker I was wondering what the old school
Nostro interpreters thought of Xinoehpoel's analysis (see below)?
Century X-72:
L'an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,
Du ciel viendra vn grand Roy d'effrayeur:
Resusciter le grand Roy d'Angolmois,
Auant apres Mars regner par bon-heur.
The year 1999 seven month,
From the sky will come a great King of terror:
To bring back to life the great King of Angolmois,
Before after Mars to reign by good luck
Interpretation of Leo Pheonix:
After 1999 years and seven more, (typo: mais)
The Great and Terrible God Mars will first be seen coming from the sky,
Coming in order to 'raise from the dead' the Great God of the many white
ghouls.
Before and after Mars arrives, the God Satan is ruler over the earth
Century X-74:
Au revolu du grand nombre septiesme,
Apparoistra au temps ieux d' Hecatombe,
Non esloigne du grand aage milliesme,
Que les entrez sortiront de leur tombe.
At the revolution of the great seventh number,
Will appear at the time (of) Games of Hecatombe,
Not very long ago from the great age of millenium,
That the enterers (letters) will exit from their grave.
Interpretation of Leo Pheonix:
After the completion of seven years from the commencement,
Mars will arrive at the time of the Games of Olympics,
Which is not long after the commencement of the Millennium.
This is when the extraterrestrials will exit out of Hell.
*** Note: 'Extraterrestrials' here is does not signify a belief that such
beings originate from outer space, but quite to the contrary, that they
originate from 'hell'. 'Hell' here does not signify a belief that such a
place is a prison to damned souls, but closer to the Jewish belief of
'Hades' or 'Sheol' that it is a literal world ruled by a God. There is also
a parallel reference in the Book of Revelation to a certain ruler named
'Death' exiting out of a 'Bottomless Pit'. (see Rev 9:11) Nostradamus may
have been mimicking Revelation in order to clearify its meaning. Also, there
seem to be several links back to X 72, where Nostradamus mentions Mars
coming in order to 'raise from the dead' the 'God of many white ghouls'.
Since 'raise from the dead' could be a way of saying 'release from the pit
of hell' or 'exit out of Hell' and X 74 times the arrival of Mars with the
appearance of extraterrestrials, it could be logically inferred that the
extraterrestrials are what Revelation calls 'the armies of Death' or 'the
ones who come with the God Death from hell'.

Well a clear case of Twisting it to make it fit the agenda of the one
posting, firstly never let poor scholarship spoil a good story, let us
take the first rhyme cited and try and work through it, in a clear and
concise manner.
Century X-72:
L'an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,
First line presented is Ok no twists.
Du ciel viendra vn grand Roy d'effrayeur:
Second line now this a stumbler, because the word Terror has much
currency and this rhyme was around long before Terror became a buzz
word, but the word is actually deffraieur not Terror but debt payer.
Resusciter le grand Roy d'Angolmois,
Third line basically got that right
Auant apres Mars regner par bon-heur.
Fourth line well trans is OK
The year 1999 seven month,
From the sky will come a great King of terror:
To bring back to life the great King of Angolmois,
Before after Mars to reign by good luck
Now shall we note the twists:
After 1999 years and seven more, (typo: mais)
No typo
The Great and Terrible God Mars will first be seen coming from the sky,
No god a king a leader coming [to power] from the skies
Coming in order to 'raise from the dead' the Great God of the many
white ghouls.
Well talk about being influenced by Vampire movies no mention whatever
of white ghouls.
Before and after Mars arrives, the God Satan is ruler over the earth.
Satan is no god he is your friend, maybe adding silly bits like this
tells us, Xinoepoel maybe did not graduate from basic Sunday school
teachings.
Now for a look at the 1961 basic take never bettered but corrected in
etymology.
CXQ 72. Since this is the only dated one (not counting configurations),
with a date still to come, it is of great interest. In September, 1999,
a "King of Terror" will come. "From the sky if taken literally, would
be both real prophecy and a justification for putting some credence in
its possibilities of fulfillment. Line 3 must needs hold the key to all
of it. If Angolmois is Angoumois (capital, Angouleme), we presumably
have a reference to the House of Angouleme, which provided France with
Francis I, his son Henry II and his grandsons Francis II, Charles IX
and Henry III, though the name "Valois" was left officially. Yet
neither Francis nor Henry would seem to qualify as a King of Terror,
nor is there any such in the history of the region. Unless some third
possible meaning is discovered, it must be noted that Angolmois is an
anagram for "Mongolois", which would give us Genghiz Khan, highly
suitable as a King of Terror. Line 4 is rather general. Mars is of
course the god of war. This quatrain will probably be a favorite in
Peking.
So really a Quatrain laying down the Profile of a man's life in power
who came from the skies in 1999, literally.
Now to the second of this.

CXQ74. The year of the great seventh number accomplished, It will
appear at the time of the games of slaughter: Not far from the great
millennial age, When the buried will go out from their tombs.
CXQ 74. This one is clearly apocalyptic. Could Nostradamus' quatrains
be arranged according to the order of their intended fulfillment, it
would come last or very close to the end. The seventh number is
probably the seventh millennium, the source of much confusion in the
Preface and the Epistle. Nostradamus' alleged clairvoyance is to extend
to the resurrection on judgment Day.
