Zarqawi's death
I will make a stunning proposal here. Apparently, people within his
terror network betrayed him. I will tell you what probably happened.
It was all done at Bin Laden's bidding. He was finding Zarqawi hard to
control, and it is known that they had differences over Zarqawi's
strategy of promoting Shiite - Sunni sectarian violence in hopes of
creating an all out Iraqi civil war. What does this do? It may
undermine US efforts in Iraq, but it also alienates many common Iraqi's
against the Islamists since they have nothing constructive to offer
with this strategy.
Bin Laden is probably more interested in a Pan Islamic resistance
movement within Iraq, but he will only mention any idea of cooperation
with Shia in private. If he wants to pull this off, he nas many many
years of persuasion and compromise before he can achieve this.
Gee, I wonder where the $25 million will go? I wonder how closely the
Department of Treasury will watch what the winner of the bounty hunt
does with it? Or will the reward money be disbursed at all?

After years of searching, al-Zarqawi's adviser led troops to his
doorstep at 18:53 on June 8, 2006, EST.
BAGHDAD (AP) - U.S. and Iraqi forces zeroed in on Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
over two weeks, finally tracking his spiritual adviser to the terrorist
leader's doorstep and unleashing the air strike that killed them both,
U=2ES. and Iraqi officials said Thursday.
The success came after several near misses in the three-year pursuit of
Iraq's most-wanted militant, who ultimately was betrayed by tips from
within his own network, U.S. military chiefs in Baghdad said.
"We knew exactly where he was and we chose the right moment," North
told The Associated Press.
[That's right. They wanted to divert the media's and public's attention
from the Haditha massacre. It will now be page 10 news]

Inside Tip Helped U.S. Take Out Al-Zarqawi
By PATRICK QUINN and KIM GAMEL
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Tips from within Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's own terror
network helped the U.S. locate and bomb a secret meeting among the
al-Qaida leader and top associates at a safe house north of Baghdad,
military officials said Thursday.
Iraqis celebrated with gunfire as the battered face of the country's
most feared terrorist was broadcast around the world. It was a
long-sought victory for U.S. forces, but officials cautioned of
violence ahead - and a string of blasts proved that prediction almost
immediately.
Within minutes of the announcement of al-Zarqawi's death, Prime
Minister Nouri al-Maliki named three key security ministers - military
and political breakthroughs in rapid succession that marked the biggest
potential turnaround in Iraq in months.

Arab Analysts: Zarqawi Was Made -- and Killed -- by the Media
New America Media, Q&A, Jamal Dajani, with Brian Shott, Jun 08, 2006
Editor's Note: Jamal Dajani, director of Middle Eastern programming at
Link TV, looks at Arab media's breaking news coverage of the lethal
airstrike on Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Al Qaeda's leader in Iraq. He was
interviewed by Brian Shott, an editor at New America Media.
Q: You've had a busy day monitoring Arab and Western media. Any
significant differences in coverage of this story so far?
A: Early on, Arab media showed the gruesome pictures. On CNN they
showed Zarqawi in death as if he were asleep. They didn't show him all
bloodied; Arab television did.
Q: Has Zarqawi's death at least left the foreign fighters in Iraq
leaderless?
A: Well, Al Qaeda has already announced on their Web site that they
have appointed a successor, Abu al-Masri.
[Very strange that Al-Qaeda was so quick to appoint a new leader.
Almost as if they knew it was going to happen? A power struggle inside
Al-Qaeda in Iraq?]

Sorry Mabus fans, there will be no civilizational ending terror event
in response to Zarqawi's death. The event in C2 Q62 already happened.

Hahahah, this Bin Laden fable is wearing a little thin there pal. Bin
Laden has been dead since at least 2001, if in fact there ever was an
Osama Bin Laden.

What I found very interesting in the more recent reports was that zarqawi
was alive and conscious when they first found him, but he died after
a number of people "re-secured him back on to the stretcher".
