Object: command prompt properties
Hi,
I know this is off topic, so don't flame me.
I just want to be pointed in the right newsgroup/website direction:
What group must I go to, to ask about manipulating the command console
in windows xp, doing things like getting the value of the screen
buffer size property etc etc.
I have tried googling for this (via google groups), but either I'm
using the wrong keywords, or it is that the microsoft windows platform
is not so popular on usenet? Certainly the newsgroups I found were
very sparsely populated by posters. (and, yes, I did try to search
their records of posts, but nothing.)

microsoft.public.vc.language is quite active
comp.os.msdos.programmer is also active
there are others in micorsoft.* also that might be pertinent.

I hope you're joking about comp.os.msdos.programmer, the top poster of
the month was Vicne at a record breaking 5 posts!!
On microsoft.public.vc.language, things look a lot more hopeful,
thanks :-)
Proably missed it because of the them being in the vc part of the
hierarachy, whatever the heck that is.

Obviously. You would have better chances in a windows group.

You can check the source code of Console2 on sourceforge:

Hey, that is a pretty cool app, not sure I'll be able to read the
source though I'll give it a shot. (newbie programmer)

You could try comp.os.ms-windows.programmer.win32
Or something else in the microsoft.public.* hierarchy. MS provides
access to those groups through its own website.
